"must be vaccinated"

So, checking everyone's identification as they enter? This is some police shit.

bro what is this lineup? i realize the boston bookfair is always pretty weak but why are there only two anarchist projects tabling?

Boston is such an embarrassment. Can't even have an anarchist bookfair with actual anarchists on the roster. Here's hoping that CrimethInc comrades flip all the tables and burn the entire "Democracy Center" to the ground in the name of anarchy.

come on, the bay area bookfair (which i attended for many years) was usually half crusty commies with @-sympathies.

but egad, after looking at the lineup and website, i have to admit that shit looks ultra-pathetic.

The Boston anarchist scene is a constantly shifting community. It’s mostly students larping and the ones who stick around have generational wealth. Every Boston book fair is full of the same boring IGD loving anarcho libs.

more like the 2021 Boston Left Unity Fair. Gag me with a Lysander Spooner...

the "synthwave" meme aesthetic has become the go-to for undecided and indifferent normies for whom aesthetics are an afterthought, as seen in this (don't tread on me) libertarian conference that took place this year https://yaliberty.org/rev21/

deja vu?

It's gonna be a bunch of liberals in a room. Let's be clear. Boston anarchy where you ever a thing?

I can only bet this is... And a very good one at that! Thanks.

Checking vaccination certificates does little if ID is not also checked. The list of attendees however then becomes a tempting law enforcement target. In addition some people do not have or cannot get ID's. That part goes double now due to the Real ID act.

As a matter of principle I do not attend events that check ID's. I also have no problem with treating indoor gatherings as cancelled until the pandemic has been reduced to flu levels of lethality for those who are themselves vaccinated.

Outdoor events risk rain but can be inclusive. We don't have a lot of unvaccinated folks that I know of but we DO have plenty who like me do not carry ID.

It doesn't say anywhere that vaccination cards or IDs will be checked.

To reference the previous topic of the week:
Q: "As anarchists...how do we not get caught?"
A: Never attend anarchist bookfairs that don't have anarchists on the vendor list.

How clearer you want it to be?

In order for someone to prove they got vaxxed, you need a QR code vaxx passport or any similar document, that is identifying people too.

Beyond that, I'll spare the argument as this announcement only has value as a joke.

I went to a concert recently where attendees were required to be masked and vaccinated. At the door the person saw the masks and said "are you vaccinated?" Everyone said "yes" and they got in.

You're jumping to conclusions that "QR code vaxx passports" will be required to "identify people" or that people will have to "prove" they've been vaccinated at all. Basically you're making shit up. Maybe don't do that? Back to your Q hole, 18:35!

there's lots of signs still hanging up that say "wear a mask" out around where i live, and there's no enforcement. But don't call people on here dumb as it only has an effect of making people dumb.

So true doc, its like a dentist wanting his atients to wear a mask!

"This year our physical space is at the Democracy Center in Cambridge: attendees must be masked and vaccinated."

This is a thing of "morality", they will kick people out of events willingly just like every collective i've heard about, and bookfairs i've attended. One I went to had some guy sitting out side (one of those street exhibitionist types), and when i asked the bookfair attendees why he was protesting, one person said that he was basically a danger to people at the event. Vague and sketchy, but don't underestimate the power of large groups of people.

I very much doubt IDs will be checked. It seems like a smart move to just say it’s required to ward off the loud and proud plague rats and conspiracy types.

Why are crimethinc and whatever “feral spores” is considered liberals ? Are all “above ground” events or events that include non-Anarchists considered liberal? Isn’t one of the goals of an event like this precisely to spread and cross pollinate anarchist ideas? What should this look like instead..??

majority anarchist projects. if you can't have majority @ projects, then maybe not having an eent that you call "anarchist" would be more honest.

An anarchist event should also have AT LEAST no fucking political parties in the first place. Or maybe some absurdist parties with no real intent to take power would be fine, but that's not exactly the DSA....

This bookfair has hit all the wrong buttons at the same time.
