In Defence of the Attack on the CGL Drill Site

In Defence of the Attack on the CGL Drill Site

From Montreal Counter-Information, Anonymous submission to MTL Counter-info

On February 17 the Coastal GasLink drill pad site by the banks of the Wedzin Kwa (morice river) was seriously damaged by an unknown group of courageous individuals. As anarchist individuals living in the North who are supportive of struggles in defence of the land and against ongoing colonization by canada and its corporate interests we declare our support for this action and encourage others to do so.

While we don’t know exactly what happened that night we can study the statements by CGL and the RCMP to read through the bullshit and get some picture. It seems undeniable from the photos that tremendous property damage was done: Vehicles used by the ex-cop ex-military mercenary Forsythe Security were damaged (the so-called poor traumatized “CGL workers”) and machines and trailers were trashed almost certainly by means of commandeered CGL heavy machinery. Other claims by CGL and the pigs are unsupported by their facts and are almost certainly bullshit: “Workers” themselves were clearly not the subject of attack since all damage was limited to vehicles and buildings and ceased as soon as security left the site. The supposed attempt to set a vehicle on fire with a security guard inside is nothing but conjecture and nonsense. In a video interview CGL released with the mercenary involved he made that claim based on the fact that a flare landed in the back of his truck while he attempted to force his way through land defenders back to the drill pad after having been expelled. Hardly seems like an attempt at lighting a vehicle on fire and in the context clearly a defensive act. Throughout the incident it seems clear that force was only used as necessary to scare CGL security into leaving so that the real work of demolishing CGL’s infrastructure of violence could begin. The axe-murderer narrative hardly stands up to their own facts!

Let’s talk for a minute about the RCMP’s claim about officers being led into a trap and injured. They claimed that they were met with projectiles while attempting to dismantle a blockade and that they then charged in the dark through the road block at which point one of them stepped on a spike board. Spike boards are defensive instruments used to stop vehicles from ramming through road blocks. Rather than their “lulled into a trap” spin this sounds like a defensive action in which people tried to stall a likely-violent police response, only used projectiles when it became necessary to defend the blockade and in which the only police injury was self-inflicted by an officer running through the dark into an unknown situation. Given the history of RCMP police violence in the region and their deployment of assault rifles, attack dogs and use of torture against land defenders it seems clear that this “violence” was defensive in nature and protected people from the far more serious violence the RCMP would reasonably be expected to have done to people if they’d reached the drill pad.

What we are left with is this: After years of trespassing and violating consent, after three militarized RCMP raids at the service of CGL, after years of harassment and intimidation of land defenders by CGL’s Forsythe security and after more peaceful methods had failed to stop CGL’s continuing violence against the land and indigenous relationships and laws some unknown individuals struck back with an impressive act of sabotage and destruction against corporate property. There is a very big difference between violence against property and violence against people and life and compared to the violence that CGL and the RCMP have been unleashing this action at the drill pad seems restrained, proportional and commendable.

We see this action as a natural outgrowth of the ongoing resistance against CGL and not in any way unprovoked or unexpected. While we don’t want to make assumptions about who was responsible we think it’s reasonable to believe this was undertaken by people acting in defense of the land and river. That is why we have referred to them as land defenders. May others continue this fight, take action against CGL, canada and on-going colonization where they stand and draw inspiration and courage from this action as we do.

Solidarity forever!

FTFY

Sounds more like a false flag. The RCMP blew up a shed in Alberta to frame farmers who opposed the oil industry in 1999. They also planted land mines around an indigenous camp in 1995. The RCMP are certainly capable of destroying property to frame activists.

How about you do a bit more research before embarrassing yourself posting conspiracy theories.

From Gord Hill: "I’ve seen people posting about a bomb attack the RCMP carried out in Alberta in the 1990s as proof of cops carrying out fake attacks. This bombing was part of the police investigation of Wiebo Ludwig and his campaign against the oil and gas industry. The action was intended to entrap Ludwig. With cooperation from the oil company, the police blew up an abandoned, unused shed. It was in no way a major act of sabotage, in contrast to what is now being reported in Wet’suwet’en territory. It was insignificant compared to the actual sabotage that was occurring and for which Ludwig was widely suspected… and for which there was a virtual media blackout by the oil companies and RCMP who did not want the practice of sabotage to spread."
https://mtlcounterinfo.org/concerning-the-attack-on-the-coastal-gaslink-...

this is a fascinating little niche of liberal psychology or maybe it's cultural hegemony or whatever the fuck it is?

that tendency for people to come up with or trust elaborate conspiracy explanations over the simpler reason that people are pissed and fought back? every black bloc someone who isn't me (SWIM acronym, member that shit?) has ever participated in, there were always these weirdos, often of the persuasion where they dabble in rightwing psyops media like alex jones, they'd always accuse the militants of being the police. even when SWIM would literally contact them and be like "nope, we're anarchists, please don't call us pigs, not cool." and they'd just double down.

lots could be said about this: i think it's something to do with how their own imagination has to really stretch to conceive of the simple explanation so they look for a different, more complicated conspiracy that doesn't implicate them as a coward who can't even seriously imagine fighting back lol someone who would only resent it if they were confronted with the truth.

OR MAYBE it was the cops "false flaggin" but that's a large claim and the strategic reasons for it don't make much sense in this instance and it seems way less likely than the simple explanation but who knows maaan? i'm just some troll

Big deal over a petty little drill crew trying to extract 200 million year old dinosaur farts!

I'm already aware of that statement by Gord Hill. I respect him as an indigenous activist, but it's utterly unconvincing as an argument against the possibility of a false flag. Just because one act is more significant or serious than the other, doesn't mean one is not a false flag.

Cops are capable of all kinds of shit and willing to do all kinds of shit to shift blame and help corporations. Many ex-RCMP work security for resource companies. Until this is proven to be the work of anti-pipeline activists, my suspicions remain.

Nah, bro, not everything is a false flag, indigenous people are capable of destroying shit, look at the land defenders in Mexico and central and south America

Not everything is a false flag, however, the article points out several flaws in the RCMP claims and the logic behind them. That should be your first clue. Something doesn't add up. It should raise suspicion.

heard of occam's razor, primal? care to explain why we shouldn't apply it here? possibilities aren't probabilities but i'm genuinely curious if there's more to what you're saying?

Another poster here, actually, possibilities are still subject to the laws of probability, mkay.

yeah? i know? the point being made is that a possibility with a low probability has an obvious problem when someone is suggesting it as an explanation. that's what the razor is for. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor

otherwise, I can spam ridiculous, implausible explanations all day long

like how you being a bit slow to see my point here is because you didn't butter your toast right to left when you ate breakfast.
PROVE ME WRONG

*blushes* You got me! i didn't connect the previous Occam razor comment to the context of this longwinded thread. I'm more into aesthetics ;)

Will all the cringey millenials and intellectually bankrupt zoomers please stop using the word "aesthetics" incorrectly? It's not just a word you can slap on to the end of a failed argument to cover your ass for not knowing what you're talking about. Thank you.

Timing: this came right after the trucker convoy was broken up and after 3 weeks of people all over social media comparing the indigenous rail blockades last year to the convoy blockades this month, and the disparities in how police responded.

Quality: seemed like a professional organized operation with numerous people, not just a handful.

Lack of suspects: no one has been identified as a suspect or detained as a person of interest. No witnesses have associated them with being indigenous or could describe them in any way. Very odd for an area that is under heavy surveillance and security.

RCMP history of dirty tricks: needs no further explanation.

All the clues point towards the likelihood of a false flag.

Mods deleted it.

I sort of think Primal's comments are beneath "arguing against" insofar as they are so straightforwardly stupid and unfalsiable. Everything MIGHT be a false flag.

How does one defend against this kind of bullshit "could have been Montebello and/or G20 black bloc all over again!" narrative, other than by speculating "well, actually, I bet it was THESE people" and helping the investigators with their jobs?

I sort of half-think it's fucked to leave up such bad faith speculation, based on, at best, a naïve belief that a few determined people with a good plan can fuck up a lot of shit. They can. They have. They will do so again. (I prefer this kind of thing, or high-speed upermarket lootings like they used to do in Greece, over y'know, mass shootings and stuff.)

But I respect @news mods run their site as they like it. No problem.

Still, you're gonna delete halfway decent attempts at mocking the sheer stupidity of this shit? Like, reflect. Is that The Vibe you want. Are you so anti-IGD "rah rah anti-colonial struggle HOO RAH" that you're just gonna lean into hippies I ran into at weird fundraiser parties for anarchist prisoners, who literally had an Alex Jones / "Jay Z is a lizard person" perspective on things?

The argument that the sabotage was done by determined activists is also unfalsifiable. There isn't enough evidence one way or the other. I have my own suspicions, as do others. I don't call other opinions "straightforwardly stupid" just because I disagree with them. Activists can and do fuck shit up all the time. But psy-ops also happen all the time.

See, this is one of the corrosive problems with anarchists. We can't seem to disagree over the most trivial of things without wanting to completely disrespect and insult each other.

I don't have a problem with you disagreeing with me, I have a problem with your logic being weak, ignoring evidence that doesn't fit your "suspicions", and undermining a culture of effective resistance in ecological struggles.

^this

what you don't seem to get or don't want to understand primal, is that you're echoing the rhetoric of the people with very different intentions than you (assuming you're a sincere person). this is an easy mistake to make, i've made it in the past myself! but over time, watching the weaponization of the media against genuine resistance, ive come to agree with anon's point.

if you're not 100% certain it's a psyop, don't just ... fling that shit around? it's toxic

kind of like casual snitch jacketing? be 100% certain, with proof or stfu

So it's okay to fling corporate and cop shit around if you're not 100% certain it was land defender sabotage. But it's not okay to harbour suspicions about a false flag on an obscure website that few people read? Have I got this right?

You can't disagree without insults. So yes, the disagreement seems to be the problem. You seem to have a lot of emotional investment in winning an argument that neither of us can conclusively prove.

Not ignoring any evidence. I just don't give the evidence the same weight as you do. Suspecting a false flag doesn't undermine the struggles of activists at all. If anything, it helps deflect the state's criminal gaze on them.

don't be such a snowflake about it, this is @news

and no, making dubious claims of psyops doesn't "deflect the state's criminal gaze". why would it?
they have access to all the resources to get the best intel anyway, your little online efforts are not meaningfully disrupting intelligence operations... you delusional jackass

(uh oh, I insulted you! notice how that has no bearing on the rest of what i'm saying tho)

Thanks for proving my point.

If my suspicions about a false flag are not meaningfully disrupting intelligence operations, then my online efforts are not meaningfully undermining activist struggles either. So I don't know what you're worried about. Again, if anything, bringing up the possibility of a false flag draws negative attention away from the land defenders and points it towards the RCMP and their history of dirty tricks.

Timing: this came right as the trucker convoy was being broken up, while RCMP and CSIS were unusually distracted by armed right-wing extremists, genuinely worried about the possibility of a shootout in front of Parliament. It also came right after CGL reported being way over-budget. When investor confidence has been undermined, it could be a good time for actions that undermine that confidence further.

Quality: there are more than a handful of land defenders involved in the struggle against CGL. Good on them for getting organized and making solid plans! I'm inspired to get together with friends and train the skills that are needed for something like this.

Lack of suspects: this is possibly wrong, if the RCMP's statements as to "we think we know who 1-2 of them are" are accurate. I've never heard of cops identifying their suspects publicly at this stage of an investigation such as this.

RCMP history: there is no documented instance of an RCMP false flag causing significant damage to corporate infrastructure.

What was also deemed an RCMP false flag by radleft:

The 2004 bombing of a high-voltage transmission line in rural Quebec, as response to Dubya's visit in the country. Apparently no oine in Canada is able to figure out how to make a powerful bomb out of things like fire extinguishers and ammonium nitrate. No, only RCMP got the skillz! Coz the police only are the experts, sez authoritarians. Regardless... the SQ has been chasing the culprit(s) for years, to an extent one guy got arrested just a few years ago, on the assumption he did it, then was released.

You know, it's not that rocket science to be doing an attack and not get caught? As long as someone's careful to cover their tracks and not brag about the act to friends...

There is that one time awhile back where the RCMP bombed oil and gas installations owned by Alberta Energy Company in Northern Alberta. Others in the RCMP kept ignoring the acts of sabotage against oil and gas installations of AEC and their construction materials prior to the bombing. It was an RCMP undercover operation to try to get closer with two individuals that had been having issues with the AEC and sabotaging their construction equipment.

So, yeah, I wouldn't put it past the RCMP if they were involved somehow and/or carrying out some sort of operation.

Timing: the RCMP weren't "distracted". They can walk and chew gum at the same time. They have more than enough resources to conduct operations in more than one province at the same time. They've already spent over $20M policing the CGL site. Being "way over budget" would actually be a good time to collect some insurance money on damaged equipment.

Quality: How many land defenders know how to operate excavators, and know the internal security operations of CGL and which workers would be where at what time? Reports say there were about 20 attackers all wearing white uniforms.

Lack of suspects: RCMP do often claim they have identified persons of interest, or have detained someone for questioning in cases like this, without releasing names.

RCMP dirty tricks, no actual large scale corporate property damage, but it hasn't been for a lack of trying. "The RCMP's original plan was to blow up one of AEC's trucks. The company convinced the police to change the operation even though AEC had already given its approval, offered up a truck to be bombed and said it would pay for any major damages. " https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/more-details-of-rcmp-dirty-tricks-reveale...

"B.C.'s Appeal Court has upheld a ruling that gave a couple convicted of planting explosive devices on the grounds of the legislature their freedom in 2016." https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/john-nuttall-amanda-koro...

And they aren't even above corporate property damage, as they've been caught planting land mines: https://indigenousfoundations.arts.ubc.ca/gustafsen_lake/

Thanks for engaging with my arguments.

Timing: it's true that BC RCMP resources wouldn't have been affected, but for the feds calling shots and the top CSIS resources, it's easy to imagine it mattering that their #1 priority in the lead-up to this was Ottawa, versus Wet'suwet'en territory where things appeared to be quiet. You assume that a multi-million dollar insurance claim in this context doesn't mean millions more in insurance premiums down the road, or insurance being refused.

Quality: all it takes is 1 who knows how to operate heavy machinery, which isn't rocket science. Your suspicions are predicated on there being zero? CGL's security operations could have been ascertained through reconnaissance, and perfect knowledge of "which workers would be where at what time" is not necessary when you have a mobile group with axes.

Lack of suspects: as I said, RCMP claiming to have identified persons of interest without releasing names is exactly what has happened here. https://globalnews.ca/video/8641909/rcmp-could-have-at-least-two-suspect...

Dirty tricks: 1) BC legislature bombs were fake: "Three homemade pressure cooker bombs were placed outside the legislature before crowds gathered but undercover police officers had already ensured they were inert by using fake explosives" (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/03/john-nuttall-and-amanda-ko...); 2) your source cites no corporate property damage from the landmines; 3) it'd still have been a single truck offered up the company, as opposed to literally all the heavy machinery at a key work site

Timing: the RCMP have numerous #1 priorities all over the country. Work on CGL site had been proceeding slowly, and they are behind schedule. Protests and blockades have been part of the reason for that. $20M has already been spent on RCMP enforcement and security. It's not hard to imagine creating a false flag (perhaps with indigenous informants who are pro pipeline) to stage a large enough event to be used as an excuse to finally round up as many activists in the area as possible and keep them tied up in court or in prison so they can't protest or blockade for a long time.

Quality: the only activists I've seen opposing the pipeline have been traditionalist first nations living off the land and in hand built homes and longhouses. I haven't seen any signs of construction on their lands that would require the use of an excavator. But you're right, it is possible someone among them knows how to operate an excavator. Point taken.

Lack of suspects: "could have" "hinting"....maybe...sort of....

Dirty tricks: the very fact RCMP are perfectly willing to blow up trucks and sheds still means they are willing to commit corporate property damage. The only difference is scale. Perhaps it's possible their dirty tricks have gotten even more elaborate and brazen now?

You’ve actually convinced me.

Primal’s right you guys. The RCMP are just trying for a justification to go in and hem everybody up with bs charges while making the land defence movement look bad. Non violent civil disobedience is the only way, otherwise we’re no better than they are fr fr on god no cap.

Another poster here. I've been following this thread and finally, after a laborious stubborn dogma rich denial of the data available, sprinkled with some common sense you had forced into your vacant idea cavity, you have come around to your senses. Good on you, and keep that vacant idea orifice open for more amazing facts!

> First Nations people live in hand built homes and longhouses and can't operate excavators

Fuck you, Primal

It has never happened in all of history! People who want to stop ecocide simply work ethical jobs, like working cash at organic food stores, or otherwise they collect welfare.

So obviously the whole thing was an RCMP operation.

To turn your own argument back on you. RCMP have never destroyed property in all of history. It's never happened. They only use ethical police procedures to solve crimes.

So obviously the whole thing was a well coordinated professional operation with specialized skills and insider knowledge of CGL security, and managed to escape without anyone getting caught.

only a "professional" can fuck shit up to an impressive degree, and "CGL security" are invincible and unflappable guardians of whatever their employer says they ought to defend (even when faced with psychopaths with axes).

and you have to see comments like Primal's.

Again, reminds me of conversations with insufferable hippies, at parties that were literally fundraisers for Toronto G20 prisoners. Where they would say "the black bloc was all cops, it's proven, I saw it on [some YouTube channel]"

and it's like, in that moment, you want to grab the person by the shoulders, shake them, and yell, "I WAS PART OF THE BLACK BLOC YOU FUCKING IDIOT. SO WAS HALF THE FUCKING SCENE. YOU COULD HAVE BEEN, TOO, BUT PROBABLY YOU'RE TOO SHIT-FOR-BRAINS TO HAVE BEEN INVITED TO THE FUCKING SPOKESCOUNCIL"

but that would have been bad opsec, y'know?

Since you don't know who did the action, the premise of your whole argument is moot. Using all caps doesn't make it any more convincing.

I know who did the action. It's not a false flag no matter how many times you insist it might be.

You are cancer

The Black Block must have a hard time with the individualist constituency , especially because they behave like they are possessed by a stupid aggressive with issues which have created this rage, also the white adolescent testosterone amplifying their screams.
Let's face it, Black Block's worst enemies are a line of riot hardened cops with batons and pepper spray and I think the tear gas hysteria has misled and obscured the real issues. Why aren't the real atrocities of the capitalists talked about in a mature and respectful manner?

The brainworms must have a hard time with the alt-troll's smoothbrain constituency , especially when they still can't figure out how to thread their replies which has created such impotent rage, also the amazing anews anarchists that get more ass than they ever could who verbally thrash them every time their express their impotent rage.
Let's face it, alt-troll's worst enemies are English language and hyperlinks on websites and I think their tear impotence hysteria has misled and obscured the real issues. Why aren't the real atrocities of their hand lotion consumption talked about over their sobs and cries for acceptance?

interesting little episode in this thread!

wow, did primal ever out themselves as a bad faith operator and of course it should probably occur to everyone that in the unlikely event that they do know anything specific about actions, don't let yourself get baited in to talking about it.

don't I? are you sure it isn't when your fool pride is why you're arguing? hmm? instead of new information and perspectives being interesting and useful to an impartial observer? hmm?

either that or you arrived with an agenda in the first place, which is also bad faith! the even worse kind

you're still doing it right now too sweetheart! argument by empty assertion, etc

"having an agenda" doesn't mean "being an asshole". i recognize that online interactions blur that distinction a lot, but so does sloppy thinking.

tldr/what is this "impartial observer" concept you're appealing to?

we don't need good faith from all participants to have a good conversation. we need focus, and our OWN capacity to stay open to new ideas and information.

thank you. now, as you were.

"tnow, as you were."

How arrogant.
Maybe what "we need" is to be more "open to" lumpy's "ideas and information" about how to have interactions with assholes to dissuade them from assholing up the place so that the rest of us can "focus" and have "good conversations"?

it's an interesting distinction, true!

I mean, I make two: bad faith includes when people can't or won't ever walk anything back just because of ego (very common) as well as when someone is being completely dishonest from the jump. Those two things function the same way but the psychology of them is a bit different. Only reason that matters is to get a more accurate read on the person, assuming you want to.

The "impartial observer" for me, is when you can be wrong or notice new information or whatever and your reaction to that is curiosity instead of just hostility or defensiveness. This is NOT common, I fail at this plenty. But it's how we learn!

Where can I find these statements by the CGL and RCMP concerning this incident in which this group is replying to?

why you always tryin to get ppl to do your homework for ya timtroll?

don't wanna have to change out of your comfy old sweatpants or something? cuz I feel that!

Excellent, and answered all the questions and doubts I had, thanks.

Gracias! I can see how you're suspicious that the RCMP may have had something to do with the sabotage of the Coastal GasLink construction equipment. I don't see how masked people with axes, smoke bombs, and boards with nails in them could've done that much damage to the various heavy construction machinery. some of the heavy construction dump trucks and bulldozers had their roofs caved in. I cant vision people with axes and boards with nails caving in the roofs of heavy machinery. The RCMP have had done stuff like that before in the past.

You should know that these masked defenders that you (and Primal sock) think are so primitive who only live in hand built huts with nails in boards as their only tools are actually smart enough to operate heavy machinery that can cause great damage? They've even figured out how to use the internet to tell you to take your stinky, racist opinions and fuck all the way off.

Are you doing okay, BROWNBEAR? If you read the article by MTL Counter-info posted here and the one Primal linked to, both have the RCMP claiming the people that did the sabotage just had axes and and spike boards according to the "CGL workers." According to the "CGL workers" that were supposedly eye witnesses, and the RCMP, none of the saboteurs used the heavy machinery to damage the heavy machinery. The MTL Counter-info is mocking the "CGL workers" & RCMP claims throughout the article. I find the "CGL workers" & RCMP claims absurd. The RCMP are clearly lying about something, but what are they lying about and why? I can see why someone would think the RCMP were involved

It is you mentioning stuff about whether the saboteurs are primitive or not. Thus these thoughts have been formulated in your brain, not mine. I would suggest that you try to limit projecting your racist thoughts onto others. And maybe wipe the foam away from your mouth before airing and projecting your racist thoughts. Good luck.

"It is you mentioning stuff about whether the saboteurs are primitive or not. Thus these thoughts have been formulated in your brain, not mine. could you elaborate on your comment? what do you mean by primitive? are you using that term in the presentest sense?

please explain what you mean by racist here, I don't understand.

Primitive people COULD cave in heavy machinery roofs, one only has to look at Stonehenge. However, one must consider the time frame. Did the primitive folk have months or years to move heavy objects onto the roofs, that is the question!?
--Post-lib archaeologist

Any amount of force necessary to beat back an invasion is justified. No difference between Putin's troops invading Kyev and Klanada's troops invading sovereign Indigenous nations. For the RCMPigs to whine about spike strips is to be even bigger crybabiea than Putin whining about Javelin missiles blowing up his tanks. Let them be glad they hit spikes instead of some of the things Putin's troops are hitting in Ukraine.

No quarter for colonizers! Not 500 years ago, not now, not ever.

I don't know how the unknown people that eco-taged (sabotaged) the TC Energy machinery used for the CGL pipeline is related to the US proxy war vs Russia? Please explain because I'm not following your train of thought. It's unclear of what the unknown people in masks with axes overall goal is, but whoever they are, they did indeed eco-tage heavy machinery that stalled the construction. However, the Wetʼsuwetʼen people aren't the ones that destroyed the heavy machinery. The Wetʼsuwetʼen people are opposed to the destruction of their home because Canada and TC Energy want to build an oil pipeline on/under their land, but it seems like they haven't used any means necessary to prevent the invader from building the pipeline through their home. Afaict, they've been relatively peaceful and mostly have blocked railroad lines and building of the CGL pipeline.

So who's justified, the fascist-like government of Ukraine, Tsar Putin and Russia, or US/NATO? Are you saying it's okay for fascists using any means necessary to defeat the invader? Everytime the US overthrows a government, they always make sure to replace it with super right-wingers, who then go on mass killing sprees with US made weaponry. Those anti-tank javalins you seem fond of are made by Lockheed-Martin, and you're in luck, their HQ is near you up in Bethesda. Whatever your thoughts are on Tsar Putin and Ukraine, you have to realize the issue is purely out of US/NATO neo-imperialistic goals. Natural resources are running low and western capitalism needs them, and will go by any means to get them. Russia has a shit ton of various natural resources that'd be useful outside of Russia.

When Canada assaults Indigenous lands (some never ceded to anyone) for a pipeline, that is in fact one nation invading another. The invasion most people are familair with right now is Russia invading Ukraine. Many other.such examples.of course exist e.g Germany invading Poland in 1939.

Putin is a hard fascist. He combines much of the domestic policy of Trump w the foreign policy of GW Bush. He checks a lot of the same boxes as Hitler: leader worship, an obsession w an enemy, ultranationaliam, union of corporatins with the state, you name it.

Ukraine has fascists within their.regime. Russia has a faacist head of state and fascist regime through and through. Putin is not just at was wirh the Azov Batrallion, he is ar war with ALL of Ukraine except his own separarists. Anarchists in Ukraine are fighting Putin too, I will accept their jidgement on rhis.

Russia never invaded Ukraine. Sounds more like a false flag. The Ukranians blew up a shed in Donbass to frame Russians who opposed NATO. They also planted fake news around a the global media. The Ukrainians are certainly capable of destroying property to frame Russians.

Oh okay. So the similarity is that both areas are being invaded by outsiders. Outside of that the similarities end. I think you just wanted to mention Putin and Ukraine, but failed on tying it all together.

I'm not surprised some Ukrainian anarchists are simping for far right nationalists. Just like I wasn't terribly surprised when red anarchists in the US were simping for the democratic party when Trump was elected. I find it bizarre, but not surprising. It's unfortunate no one has told those anarchists that simping for right-wingers or the state and capitalism is a bad idea or maybe they have been told, but they think it'll be different this time. Who knows? I hope you're aware anarchists in Ukraine aren't a monolithic hive. The IMF is already "in" Russia and have been. Pipelines from Russia to western Europe have already been built. I feel like you're serving me a dish of pasta.

No anarchists are "simping" for the state, the right-wing, or for the democratic party you stupid fucking troll. Stop being such a shitass troll on the internet with all your impotent sock puppet accounts spending countless hours of the day trying to aggravate people before your posts get removed and go live live a life. Your life will be over before you know it and you'll have wasted most of it trolling anews. You can do it, "Tim." We believe in you. Just walk away.

Since Wetʼsuwetʼen land was never, ever ceded ti the UK nor their Canadian successor state, it follows that any armed invasion of their land is no different than German troops in Poland, Russian troops in Ukraine, US troops in Iraq etc.

It is up to the Wetʼsuwetʼen themselves to choose how to defend their land. If they wanted ro and posessed the means, under international law they could even enter Canadian territory to destroy the hardware of the invaders or thr invaders themselves. Lacking the means does not forfeit this right, only the power. It is not for anyone else to give orders to the Wetʼsuwetʼen about how to defend their sovereign nation from attack.

As for Russia, if Putin's regime is destabilized and falls, there is no guarantee for the IMF, World Bank, and global corporarions that Russia's doors would be thrown.open to them. Real world: ANY kind of regime could be next in line. Civil war would also be possible if two or more factions of similar power fight for control. It's hard to build pipelines in the niddle of a civil war.

If Russian anarchists ended up putting Putin in the guillotine where he belongs, all those corporations can forget about plunderimg Russian oil, gas, and minerals.

Strongest sanction now would be to stop Russian oil and gas exports, but NATO is too addicted to Russia oil and gas to do so. That of.course suggests a win-win strategy for those who oppose both destruction of the climate and invasion of people's lands: target Russia's pipelines.
