TotW: Inspire-ing

Someone signed off on a message to me with the comment, "keep breathing," which I took to mean a more general way of saying "stay alive," and also "be inspired." Who do you want to be inspiring to? Who inspires you? And what common, daily practices remind you to be inspiring and inspired?

bt definitely more to my friends.

being inspiring is more complicated than it sounds, since it means, like --giving energy to, or something like that? imbuing with energy? i don't really want my enemies to have more energy, unless it's the energy they need to be not-enemies, which would be cool.

so, what do i do for myself? sometimes i make myself cry. 'cause sometimes not-crying is part of a shell that i need to come out of. i know that other people hide behind tears sometimes, so it's not a once-eyes-fits-all. sometimes i laugh and cry at the same time. that usually feels pretty real.

Breathe, keep breathing
Don't lose your nerve
Breathe, keep breathing
I can't do this alone

I don't get much inspiration from anyone who's trying to.

The people who inspire me don't think about it and I rarely ever tell them. But it always looks something like the proverbial slings and arrows. They catch the arrows out of the air, or pull them out of their own skin and throw them back. Rage instead of despair.

oh and they have to keep breathing because fuck martyrdom

When I invented anarchist inspiration I had to foresight to remind myself to avoid all outside moralcuck scientisms, contract my diameter tightly from ID-pol retard penetrations like so many wagons circled, and, like, listen only to my inner egregore about indulging my dark cravings. Everybody knows this.

music is what does it for me. also a good joke in a good book, the kind that makes you laugh out loud.

but as far as inspire to action? this has changed over the years. i still get that itch to pop in and see what happening's when things are tense. and its the courage of others that gets me going.

these questions are actually really deep. what gave us the breath of life? i can say plants and this living planet gives me what i need to keep breathing and even breathe in the first place. the people i enjoy lift my spirits when i'm feeling down. i don't aspire to inspire others, though that seems like a noble goal. as much as i admire others for traits that are normally admirable -enthusiasm, perseverance, endurance, strength, proficiency, prolificness, humor, wit- i'm never inspired by them. i can be encouraged and motivated, but as some of these people have said, inspiration or the muse or whatever comes unexpectedly from many different sources, it's a matter of developing a consistency, the series of habits that makes you step up to the bat or the blank page or whatever relevant ambit or context to be able to harness and apply that inspiration. most of the time inspiration is not there, that's the default. a lot of times inspiration is just the seed, and then it needs a lot of shit as compost and a lot of polishing turds or something. most of everything is uninspired and uninspiring

how do you be who you want to be? who do you measure yourself against? who do you want people to measure you against?

we do measure ourselves in relation to other people; most of us are still social in that way at least, le way et al notwithstanding.

*cough cough*

chopped liver over here?! that's fine. whatever. totally not mad

Let me ask you something, Anews Anonymous. Why do you allow those people you mentioned to occupy large swathes of your mind? It's not just you, I've noticed the people you mentioned occupy the minds of quite a few other people on here too, but it's never articulated why they occupy y'alls minds. I guess, it could be just one person whinging about them, but me thinks it's more than one person. I get the vibe it's a "monkey see, monkey do" type thing. I don't get it. Is it some sort of group think thing and do you know why they occupy your mind?

Your screen name alludes to those 12-Step programs, so perhaps y'all could set up a 12 Step program to help y'all with this issue. Like here's a few examples steps you could use.

1. We admitted we were powerless over SirEinzige, Le Way, and Calvin occupying our mind – that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that removing ourselves from the hive could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of ourselves as individuals.

Your Xtian "if you ignore a problem it will go away", bullcrap sensibility is not welcome here, Timmy! Unlike you, when bullies demand our lunch money or pollute our meditative spaces with their acoustic guitar covers of lame songs, we fight back!

Dope! People sometimes call me Moth or Mothy because I'm blinded by the night, wrapped up like a douche, another boner in the light.

I sometimes think about in power and how it manifests itself on messageboards/forums, and how it encourages people to turn themselves into borg drones. Thank you for doing as told and I do hope y'all find someway to collectively remove these people that occupy your mind.

and little whurly burly gave my anus curly wuly, and aked me if i needed a riiiide
doodley doodley doodley do, doodley doodley doodley do, doodley doodley doodley do-oooo

Yeah, Bruce Springsteen has made some good jams like that one. I've been trying to inspire people to stop calling him "The Boss" given his purported political beliefs.

I for get the other band that got famous from covering it.

It was Manfred Mann and the Earth Band dude, and it was from their album Angel Station. They weren't boring!

The solo bee individual has the best life away from the tyranny of the hive. All their hard earned honey is their own property for feasting as they see fit.

YES, AND only IN SELF-DEFENCE SHALL THE BEEGOIST USE THEIR UNIQUE STING TO REPEL HIVEIST WORKER DRONE PUPPETS OF THE QUEEN FROM THEIR OWN HONEY!!

Wee reject your sting restrictions outright.
All beegoist actions are self-defense.
Indiscriminate stings for whomever wee choose!

I do not acknowledge the long appendage you masculine stinger and sack bees have between your legs and how you indiscriminately penetrate others with it. So damn hierachical patriarchal values!

The image influenced me to look up and see what kind of mushroom is in the image. They're called Puffballs if no one wanted to know. I don't know if I inspire anyone negatively, positively, and/or somewhere in between. I don't set out to inspire people much and certainly don't do it daily. I suppose learning about new things or the complexity of various things inspires me.

"Inspiration" usually is a term that relates to the creative arts: inspiration for the novel, inspiration for the song, inspiration for the painting, etc. For me personally, as is insinuated in the TOTW short essay, it's all just about impulse. Mozart, or beethoven, can't remember...said that their music was an "inspiration from God", i think they meant, an inspiration from impulse: it's unclear in all original works (or often just in terms of what you do during the day, which is also creative) where the "source" of the inspiration came frame. It just happens. If you think too much, the inspiration is lost, as lumpy above implies.

now THAT'S an inspiring typo

I too have moved beyond external inspirations toward auto egregorotic self generated inspirations from deep within my moist and quivering creative nothing. Every radical centrist knows this.

The void or the creative nothing inspires me to go out and exercise my own potentialities and desires. That is all, so simple and self-generated.

I dont know if this fits but, this is one i always come back to, to keep myself from doom spiralling thinking i should walk into the street and let something hit me:

No. This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it's still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You're still alive.

Is it inspirational? I dont know, but i know it inspires me to keep going.
