Decomposition: For Insurrection Without Vanguards

From Ungrateful Hyenas

The writings of Tiqqun and the Invisible Committee have given rise to the emergence of an authoritarian insurrectionalist tendency that has been recruiting and building its ranks for about the past decade and a half. Although one of the trademarks of tiqqunism is its approach to “invisibility”, or not being legible as a distinct tendency, after so many years and some significant betrayals, tiqqunists have thoroughly revealed who they are and what they want, which is at direct odds with any struggle against authority.

While tiqqunism has crossed the pond from France and taken root across turtle island to some extent, the anarchist critique of tiqqunism has not. This reflects a general commitment to tolerance in the anarchist space, an unfortunate reaction against the ideological dogmatism that silos people in insular and stale subcultural enclosures. Thinking through the lens of this false dilemma comes at the expense of uncompromising clarity around how we relate to power, reformism, representation, and the mechanisms of politics. In short, this tolerance, even when motivated by a desire for openness and connection, blurs the lines which lie at the very foundation of autonomy and self-organization.

Tiqqunism pretends to offer an escape from ideological camps, transcending the confines of identities that no longer serve us and inviting us to be partisans in their insurrectionary composition. Not only is this an empty promise, as the subcultural niche they have formed is highly exclusive, insular, oppressive, and frankly unpleasant, it is also a way of manipulating readers into uncritically adopting, or at least tolerating, their proposals.

This collection aims to shed light on the authoritarian ambitions woven throughout tiqqunist ideas in order to encourage anarchists to abandon tolerance and move towards principled and necessary conflict. Ideas are not neutral, they are not incidental aesthetic preferences or personality quirks, they form the basis of who we are, how we move through the world, and how we struggle. As the authors of Blanqui or the Statist Insurrection remind us, the ideas we feel close to are “not irrelevant, and constitute choosing an unmistakable side.”

Going In Circles is still relevant over a decade later, as it shows how the practices of tiqqunists are entirely predictable from their magnum opus, “The Coming Insurrection.” Blanqui or the Statist Insurrection traces authoritarian insurrectionalism to its source. Blanqui in Venaus gives a brief note on the proposals for recuperation within “To Our Friends.” The Death of Rémi and Confrontations furthers the theme of recuperation, commenting on the tiqqunist mobilization of the State murdering a demonstrator in order to dialogue with it. Decisions, Compositions, Negotiations hones in on their logic of “composition” in the context of land defense struggles, and Here Lies a Corpse speaks to their use of composition to pacify the ZAD. We close with our own “composition,” intended to lay bare the essence of the tiqqunist project in the very words of those not-so-invisible men who love to put their names on things.

While tiqqunism inevitably plays out differently across contexts, we value the insights and experiences of comrades from other territories in recognizing and attacking authority in all its guises. Ill Will Editions recently published a text championing “composition” as the strategy that secured “victory” at the Zad in Notre-Dame-des-Landes and proposes the same strategy be used in the No Cop City struggle. In bringing these texts together, we hope to spread hostility to this vision of victory and to tiqqunist involvement in the No Cop City struggle, or anywhere else they rear their managerial heads.

TYCOONISTS!!

I had a brief but long-enough experience of the "ZAD" in Dijon... which if you're aware of the Tiqqun milieu in France, it says a lot. i.e. the biggest Tiqqunist milieu outside of Tarnac and Forcalquier.

Scummy terrible people, but with the bourgie upper-caste pretense. These are the classic and worst of what you'll get from sectarian Tiqqunism. Not only these people are holding meetings with city officials but their so-called "liberated" zone is literally a bourgie housing development in process. All the communal houses are private, while they built on freely-squatted grounds. They were building yet another concert hall in latest news.

They're of course fully-loaded with ID pols which they're using as tokens for inclusion in their houses.

Their two well-known "squats" in the area, the Tanneries I & II are legalized occupations also working in collaboration with municipal authorities and got CCTVs on the streets at the entrances. So I'd say they're only FTP and ant-state when this suits their cultist interests, but they'll willingly flip-flop at the first opportunistic opening with the state. We're living in an age of "hybrid diplomacy", or duplicitous politics, so not too surprising within a deeply neoliberal society.

So perhaps only go there if you want some sort of retaliation for their authoritarian gimmicks..

Aside from ZAD I wasn’t able to find any discussions of concrete events in this text, which dramatically reduced its interest for me. It pitches itself as a reaction to the authoritarian infiltration of the Atlanta forest protest (?) but anarchists have been critiquing TQ/IC since their first book came out almost 15 years ago. Maybe it’s not for me, but I really didn’t learn a damn thing about what these characters might be up to nowadays, and I haven’t encountered one in the wild for a decade.

Basic trivialist anal-retensive nitpick... IC wasn't Tiqqun's first book, but the one that pushed them to literary stardom. They've been writing stuff since the late '90s, and it was much better and less authoritarian/sectarian theory, while already extremely pretentious, as some sort of neo-post-situ writings. Their books were very much known within the Left academic intelligentsia of the summit-hopping days, and yes despite their problems they were deeply connecting to this zeitgeist Tiqqun I & II, The Call, Materials for a Theory of the Young Girl look it up.

I'm afraid these books might not have aged very well. For any old shit that matters, psychedelia, D & G, and Reichian orgasmic rev theory is more relevant these days than these brutal robotic crypto-leninists.

I can nitpick too- tiqqun was a journal published in two issues (theory of jeunefille was an essay appearing in one of them), call/appel was a zine. Coming insurrection was the first “book” and the first time US anarchists were talking about them, at least that I recall! I was not a left academic in those days though just a dumb punk running through the streets.

What is the substantial difference between a "book" and a "book"? A book is by itself a vague designation for a type of print media. A volume or episode within a series also can stand as a book, or not. A journal, as in pamphlet or zine, is another format. Was Tiqqun a zine? Not quite.

"For any old shit that matters, psychedelia, D & G, and Reichian orgasmic rev theory is more relevant these days than these brutal robotic crypto-leninists."
Yes, it is more relevant to the hedonistic woke identitarian neo-narcissistic Western society/cult, no?

That spice much needed to shock-therapy the youth to a level of psychically-awaken life, after a social media-induced intellectual coma since their childhood. The spice must flow!

"Yes" said the ghost of Dr Lilly with his psychedelic nihilistic celebrity notoriety and as the Guru-President of the Hippy Nation supported by capitalism's luxuries.

Typo- should be Timothy Leary, not Dr Lilly, though his Centre of the Cyclone was a good intro to LSD experience.

Lilly interpreted a range of different levels of experience, using pre-existing concepts such as satori or samadhi, to create a composite framework of consciousness ranging on the one hand from the death of the ego and fusion with the Universal Mind to a state of the 'quintessence of evil' and 'deepest hell imaginable' on the other hand. This seems Manachean, even X-tian in the binary cognitive conditioning, but hey, who programs the software huh?

Tim Leary was the absolute proto-ancap but also just a product of his time.

What I'm looking into is the psychedelia that can survive history, from O. Spare to P-Orridge, from the Beat to the Grunge to -perhaps- the nihilo-queer of today... tendencies of subverting the cognitive mainstream order, and (going back to the main topic) as the Early Tiqqunians labeled the "critical metaphysics", without going further in this direction... as they were all too focused on the materialist quest for power-accumulation. These cultural evasions must be guided by a level of metaphysical vision of an Otherness.

can somebody explain to me how exactly reading Tiqqun is going to make me want to negotiate with city officials in atlanta?

make your critiques about those specific people on that side of the atlantic, sure but this idea that a very loosely defined milieu of people who will negotiate with power is a deliberate plot? it's just a possibility of human behaviour everywhere... this shit has always been weird and smelled like red-scare meets trust-fund-anarchist in a sexy fever dream, to me.

spoiler, the paranoid theories totally bang it out

This piece is about Tiqqunism, not merely the essays written by this collective.

These assumptions on the US iteration of the clique (or cult?) are half-paranoia, half-sociology. Beyond the thin French Connection that did happen for a while at least, the later publications of this sorry "insurrectionist" cult at reaching to more or less the same social-cultural strata of "militant academics" as in France. Aaaaaaaand... "CrimethInc". LundiAM are part of their network, and they share the same elitist attributes IRL.

^assertion alert!

you familiar with the grayzone? that's about the level of drawing "connections" that you're doing right now

It's no assertion but a well-known backstory involving the DHS and maybe the FBI.

i.e. the famed Tiqqun couple had all their documents held at the customs while returning from a US trip so all their US connections from back in the days became known. But that didn't stop there. French tourists always had it easy when it comes to traveling the US, and the Tiqqun communetards tend to be so unmistakable with casual people... they're just normies after all.

lol. i'ts not an assertion because it's well-known.

apparently someone doesn't know what an assertion is.

An assertion ceases to be one when it is evidenced. Then if becomes a record, or an historical "fact", even if I don't like the word too much. That French Tiqqunians connected with some radical cliques in the US is a fact. Julien and Ylledune caught at the border and having their documents seized is a fact. There's no snitching on my part as far as this is knowledge that some 3-letter agency has had for more than a decade.

On the other hand, claiming the "agency" of some peaceful activist who got shot by cops 15 times, that's an assertion, and quite a senseless one.

"connected with" <--- this extremely vague phrase is doing some heavy lifting here, since it's supporting a claim that Tiqquinistas have infiltrated and meaningfully brainwormed the anarchists throughout canada and the US.

maybe you just like the fear boner from your anti-commie fever dreams because america is a hellofa drug

can somebody explain to me how exactly reading Tiqqun is going to make me want to negotiate with city officials in atlanta?"

They call that "Dual Power".

think i'll call you reverse agent alexander reid ross

same bullshit, traveling the opposite direction along the horseshoe theory

Oh wait.. did I call the Tycoonians a bunch of crypto-fash? No I didn't.

If you read carefully through my comments that sadly caused you butthurt, all I meant is that they're just another gang of capitalistic collectivists, with some Red fash elements.

"did i call them fash? no i didn't. your butt has been hurt! anyway, they're red fash tho."

^ that's you

Why is lumpy still coming to the rescue for anything even slightly Communist-adjacent. It's 2023, we comrades must evolve!

Dual Power is authoritarian garbage and should be treated as such..

did you have a question? want to ask me directly or talk past me like you're too cool for the red scare? ;)

Lumpy, why are you still coming to the rescue for anything even slightly Communist-adjacent. It's 2023, we comrades must evolve! Don't you agree?

Dual Power is authoritarian garbage and should be treated as such.. Don't you agree?

hi there "anarchists", thanks for your question!

completely agree that dual power is a fraught concept at best, almost always uncritically referenced by the most obnoxious sort of LARPing MLs who generally lack the charisma to even sustain their sad little cults of dimwits and naive student types.

But also, I do think it's sometimes worthwhile for anarchists to explore a very small scale version of something that might replace or compete with the infrastructure of their many enemies, which is kind of like dual power without the lenin, or also just an ancient reality of human societies in all forms, feel free to choose whichever framework you like.

To your first point, which is far less interesting btw, nothing can "rescue" communism and that's definitely not what I'm doing. I'm mildly concerned with unhinged, anti-commie conspiracy theories because of who tends to be sowing those seeds and why. That shit gets a big neon BUYER BEWARE sticker from me.

Dual power is an inherently Marxist idea no matter how you slice it. Anarchy is about diffuse power which essentially amounts to escape from a system. Even something large scale like what might have been in Eastern Europe to close out the ten/teens and enter the 20s(at best it would have been Chiapas to scale) would not have been 'dual power'. The inherent problem of dual power is you are defining your power by the dominant legacy power structure. That's why you tend to get Lenin's from that logic.

I don't think you've ever gotten the basics what anarchy is in the context of legacy power structures.

i don't find you insightful or interesting ziggles, remember? I said it's a little bit like dual power and i explained why. don't like it? don't care. don't agree? don't care.

and i know it's inherently marxist you splainy jackass, that was already obvious

You're the one who is talking about competing and replacing when that's not what anarchy would be. Anarchy is about escapes via social fissures or interstitial zones of existence. I mean, the Masterless Men of Eastern Canada represent the basic model of what anarchy and human freedom and owness is. Anarchy is an exit strategy not a parallel competition strategy via some goofy materialist war game class or otherwise.

"Anarchy is an exit strategy not a parallel competition strategy via some goofy materialist war game class or otherwise."
This could be a TOTW, I like it, escape from any system of rule is the quintessential characteristic of all anarchistic endeavour. A nice concise description I'll add to my one liner repertoire, thx ;)

"Anarchy is an exit strategy [...]"

There's no point in contorting the word anarchy to fit whatever argument.

I for one don't see much of a reason to mention it in this context and many others and have been thinking a lot about how severely anarchy/anarchism qualifies as margarine terminology.

Anarchy and chaos are words that have of course always been used in a pejorative way. Anarchism is just a variant of Marxism that emphasizes opposition to what it calls the state.

Ziggy's posts, specifically, often speak to something on addition to this historical anarchy. It's something more to and from a tradition of individualism and egoism than from anarchism.

Beyond all this I just mentioned, I think "exits" are problematic.

There is no "outside" where one could exit if one wanted. Even Mars. It's utopian logic. It's transcendentalist. One seeks to escape because they can't confront.

My philosophy says just enjoy life as best as you can whenever you can. Maybe that can be anarchy. Heuristic hedonism.

Most things people obsess over changing exist on scales beyond our control—individual and even collective. But we still have some "freedom" that likely means simply reaching a place of repose, and when possible, relative autonomy. In this reality, practically, that means having some form of wealth, however you chose to define that. But this of course reminds us that anarchism is indeed a lot of things (martyristic poverty fetishism) to a lot of people (not experiencing fulfillment in life).

Lol, "My philosophy says just enjoy life as best as you can whenever you can. Maybe that can be anarchy. Heuristic hedonism."
Umm, welcome to the shallow world of anarcho-feelgood. Read some Stirner!

"But this of course reminds us that anarchism is indeed a lot of things (martyristic poverty fetishism) to a lot of people (not experiencing fulfillment in life)." Welcome to the world of religiously pursuing ressentiment. Read some Nietzsche, Amor fati brah!

I do agree that what I specifically represent is more out of the egoist individualist line of thought. Anarchism vs Anarchy basically represents the Proudhon/Stirner ideologeny split. I would still say though that anarchism as beginning with Proudhon(and to a lesser extent Godwin) still does not represent a traditional political way of doing things via taking power. Anarchism to me represents polychromatic power and its mode of separating from a monopowered leviathan structure is not based on a singular event or a mass counter structure. If Eastern Europe had been a model of anarchism there would have been various models of political economy being tried over a large subcontinental scale.

yeah. therefore, if you weren't such a dishonest thinker, you'd have to acknowledge that you know damned well we're not talking about the same things. instead, you deliberately misrepresent what other people are saying like the shitty little dimestore demagogue you are.

I like power! I take it when i can and i use it. and i share it with my friends. that's a far more interesting anarchy for me than your sanctimonious, self congratulatory, armchair egoist claims that everyone is stupid but you, while you sit on your ass. boring af in my view!

anyway we've been through all this years ago, if your memory works worth shit

If you mean taking political economic power in the same way that most ideologues want to take it then that goes against the spirit of even non Stirnerian anarchists types. Hell, John Holloway wrote a book 21 years ago called change the world without taking power. A rare take for a Marxist which you seem all to close to being.

nope. obviously not what I meant but there you go again, shamelessly lying as usual

this is why nobody should bother talking to you

You started this thread by talking about dual power modifications that are not Lenin based and finding some non authoritarian way to take and compete with power. What else is that supposed to mean. I'm simply pointing out that it's a bad idea to explore ANY kind of power dynamic that can have a Leninist or authoritarian dimension. The most full proof way to avoid this is to diffuse power and let a thousand flowers bloom. This has always been the basic anarchist position going back to Proudhon who was never interested in any kind of revolutionary take over. Stirner of course is even more extreme.

Dual power of any kind is of new use to any honest anarchist.

ziggles, no i didn't. you're twisting words because you reach deeply in to your own ass every time you form a thought. spare me the smell

"But also, I do think it's sometimes worthwhile for anarchists to explore a very small scale version of something that might replace or compete with the infrastructure of their many enemies, which is kind of like dual power without the lenin, or also just an ancient reality of human societies in all forms, feel free to choose whichever framework you like."

I know what I typed you galloping, flopping, jackass.

what you pull out of it is because of your brainworms, which aren't my responsibility ;)

you're currently typing on a site that meets my definition of anarchist infrastructure. you wouldn't be able to be here, making your donkey noises if people hadn't done the thing i'm talking about.

my anarchism doesn't shy away from many things you'd never be able to credibly talk about. but here you are, always droning on and on, convinced you're coming off as clever

Does not equal a variation on dual power Dumpy. There are many ideologies that do this that do not have power taking building goals lol

How do you power "anarchist infrastructure"? With anarchist power plants burning anarchist fossil fuels?

Dual power, anarchist infrastructure, anarchist alternatives, anarchist ideologies.... all of it is just SO FUCKING DUMB.
All y'all brainiacs need to get over yourselves.

maybe if you use more capital letters, i'll stop seeking revenge and being filled with seething hatred forever?

No, lumpy. I FULLY support AND endorse seeking revenge. It's the cork sniffing and hubris from backseat blabbermouths that needs to go.

Um... what?

"I like power! I take it when i can and i use it. and i share it with my friends."

Yes. spoken like a true Lefty capitalist egoist. "Me and my friends and I". This is where your Revolution, your Mutual Aid, your Insurrection went... i.e. under the yellow bus.

An anarchist is truly recognizable by their Will to Power, not their pursuance or drive for more power. Those are two concepts that can be only confused on the surface. The weak needs more power to elevate themselves in society. The strong seeks to overcome society. One bases their lives on the fear of death; the anarchist bases their lives on, just, making life happen.

Dogs running after sausages are not anarchists, but only other types of alienated proles. Enjoy your doughnuts.

congrats on your level of gibberish!

"lefty capitalist" is especially good

It's so fun to completely misunderstand Nietzsche but still invoke him in twisted ways to make a point to try and dunk on randos on the internet and vanish into anonymity when someone with knowledge of Nietzsche wastes energy to point it out.

Proof: There is no "death for" the anarchist to base their life on because eternal return has taught us that sausage dogs are always already dead and that we have killed them. We understand this by being the bridge and not the goal, by embracing the all the eternity that joy desires.

You dummy.

No uuuuu!

Ok tell us how this is a misunderstanding... that the Will to Power represents the personal force, or the drive to overcome one's personal, existential, social constraints or hindrances or limitations, in asserting their sovereign-like will over their existence, and go forward with their inspirations and ideas. The Will to Power is not a mere quest for power-accumulation. Nor it is about seeking more battery power, or power for your RV. Somewhat like the broken clock Ziggy said, there are several notions of power. Personal capacity is one, and the one Nietzsche was more referring to.

The socially-diffused and yet privatizing notion of "power", over *others*, is another. Who needs to control, deprive others to achieve their agendas, other than weaklings who need *other people* in the first place to support them? You want to support a bureaucratic, manipulative parasite who can't even wash his dishes... or someone who, like, say, Sean Swain, who's standing up on his own up against an entire system of resentment-driven state despots and parasites, for his own dignity, truth and liberation?

This is where a "support for the strong" morale starts to make sense. While this may be seen as fascism, it is actually the opposite.

"While this may be seen as fascism, it is actually the opposite."
Many many years ago in a not so long ago era during economic depression :----
"I'm gonna stand up for that little artiste guy down at the beer garden who gets drunk and declares that he will drag Germany out of its economic slavery to European liberalism"

solve for x

x + choice + git gude

x = power

"That's why you tend to get Lenin's from that logic."

You tend to get Lenin's what? What?!?

When galaxy-brained egregores don't know the difference between a plural and a possessive it makes everyone question their galaxy brained hot takes, Sir. Do be more careful.

This Egregore's Galaxy Brain has obviously grown far beyond and above the menial needs of grammar and logic, that still imprisons the Antifatards within spells of commensalist embrigadement!

I’m glad this critique is getting spread out more. They love using “political ambiguity” which ends up being just liberalism or flirting with fascism. It’s the same amongst all their affiliates. The tiqqunists at woodbine have always been a yuppie cesspool. Now they’re accepting funding from an ngo that put a stipulation on the money that they can’t have anti cop imagery. They of course obliged. They’ve been a blight for a long time in every city and interaction. Dumbasses brought a don’t tread on me flag to a blm demo once. The list of their foolishness just goes on and on. They’re straight up collaborating with the Democratic Party. In fact one of the dudes is actually dating Julie Salazar. Most of their events now are just yuppie grad student “readings” and stuff. They’re the worst of the worst. Not much better from when they were reading Evola under Glen and Stephanie’s reign.

someone tweeted that tiqqunists have been at the atl forest defense since day one so if anything its the other way around and "we're" rearing our heads in their thing and that they're the main force in that struggle

im not rearing my head its just a reference to the essay. the person who tweeted about it stayed there for a month. anyways

Someone tweeted stuff about tis people being with that occupation. Oh noooo! Anyway...

i didnt read this essay but the point of the comment is that the essay is acting like the atl forest defense is there thing where this person who went there saw that the tycoonists are the main force there which is the opposite of what the essay is claiming because its like “tycoonists out of our space” when in reality its not the authors space to begin with

it’s just yourself responding to yourself in this thread, no one says tycoonist. no need to call em appelistas or anything fancy either, just plain ol commies. idk why you started this stupid circle-jerk or fake lame polemic. this topic is old, older than those translated texts. they can astroturf and do entryism all they want, there not even anywhere near something relevant for anarchists, of enough significance to be of note. even more marginal than the fash antifa obsesses over, although one could argue they should fall under that umbrella.

Correct, the Tiqqunist demographic resembles the same one that attracts disempowered intellectual folk from all over, and It's a very broad spectrum of individuals and collectives united towards an equally broad spectrum of lifestyles, values and desires. Depending on the methodologies, culture and social issues plaguing any of these diverse regions is their business, and these transcontinental rivalries and criticisms are pointless and actually quite immature. In the 21st century the insurgency has leaned towards a more pragmatic and centrist path out of urgency in embracing a broader demographic of people to overcome the swelling rise of authoritarian control and economic inequality.

they are authoritarians themselves, that is the point of all anarchist critiques aimed at them, but also in general, of course

I am not a demographic, but seeking to be embraced still. Not by Tycoonists tho as they ain't very nice people.

But let's talk about "appealing to the masses" or mainstream culture. The normative got super-appealing lately due to phenomena like social media. The flip of this coin is called "CONFORMITY". Including but not limited to gender conformity.

The more you seek to appeal to others, the more you lose your self. And as a matter of fact, the Tiqqunians have proven to be notoriously anti-individual, both in writings and their IRL conduct.

As for "urgency" of revolt, it's been always around. Everyday the society unleashes its dogs against those not submitting.

And there's still corners where the real anarch individuals can do their own thing away from authority

In ZADland, this corner was cold, wet, filthy and lonely compared to the "palaces" of the Communards. Everyone deserves their chance at a good life... and that is the most fundamental principle in equalitarian principle. But seek to privatize, safekeep, separate and terrirorialize and you end up just internalizing capitalist society like every other failed culture of so-called opposition.

Oh and I don't think Soviets are a good alternative to Capitalistan.

"...any struggle against authority."

My Mom gets a load of my struggle against authority every time she won't give me the car keys!

I agree with the critique. Though I'm conflicted sometimes when anarchists over-emphasize "the individual" as this pure being of sweet, concentrated life-nectar or something (beautiful and immaculate if only left untouched!). That's not how life has ever felt to me (not that it couldn't -- but it feels like we're getting into a representation of what's lost in life more than...actual lived, everyday life, which can definitely suck even without the state). Not that I get an essentialized/romantic impression of the individual from Wolfi's writing, specifically, but less nuanced writers have definitely done it. I know Wolfi knows too much Stirner to do that lol :)

Part of me wonders if this skeptical view of the individual is partly generation, too. I think younger, hipster tiqqunists are jaded by what the individual has been reduced to (more so than ever as our "individuality" is increasingly split into unrelated data sets and sold) in a different way than people of Wolfi's generation (assertion alert!). If I was super generous toward the tiqqunists' writing, I'd say it feels like they are trying to "do" post-humanism with anarchism/post-marxism (to show the state of the reduced "individual" and how identifying with this should be abandoned) but failing miserably.

I don't think it is accurate or appropriate to single out these U.S. based projects, authors and publishers as the people to be wary of in social struggles in the US(in Atlanta or elsewhere). "Decomposition" conflates the tiqqun/invisible committee titles (and author Julien Coupat) with ideas shared by Ill Will and the specific authors Hugh F and Adrian W in a way that centers them as the main friends of the imaginary party(and thus foes to anarchists) who are trying to replicate all of the shitty things that some French Appelistas have done. The texts that they selected to collage togther: Inhabit, The Strategy of Composition, Memes Without End, etc. are some of the more widely read anti-state/left communist texts and it seems inaccurate to lump them together as a monolithic and authoritarian ideology branded as Tiqqun USA . Furthermore implying people invested in these writings or projects will behave the same way as the betraying tiqqunists did during the ZAD is disingenuous. I don't think the composition that Hugh F talks about is the same as the compostiion that this essay describes it as. For example as a big one composition doesn't necessitate collaboration with the state. It would be useful to have a more specific critique on the particular ideas that come from texts by Adrian, Hugh, Ill Will, Vitalist International etc, and/or to provide information specific to the people and groups being addressed in "Decomposition" because this is basically instruction for anarchists to not work with them. And considering how connected they are in part because they are connected to the publishing space, I don't see it being easy to disentangle them from some kind of more pure anarchist formation arguing instead for decompostion. there wasn't anything in "Decomposition" that affirms that the ideas that these folks are trying to spread around, including support and involvment in No Cop City is more authoritarian or sus than any other projects happening right now under anarchist, communist, or any other radical formations. I have been enjoying most of the texts and the constant updates and graphic design that these communist projects make happen in collaboration with anarchist projects like IGD and Crimethinc. They all seem to share around and amplify the ideas for one another. I think that actually anarchists and communists (some of both are indeed tiqqun-influenced) seem to be pretty collaborative and synergistic in most on the ground social formations. For example in Oakland, Tamarack, is a tiqqun-inspired project, that basically is formed by anarchists and communists having events and doing work together. This zine says it is a fault of our avoidance of conflict in the United States (which is pretty rediculous if you look at the amount of infighting that does happen) that we haven't seperated from these "managers". This zine didn't do anything to change my view that the bulk of people who are part of these communist projeccts aren't managers but comrades with a shared desire for something else. I think that communist and tiqqun-influenced formations have been active in Atlanta for a while and that this is in part why No Cop City is influenced by their ideas there. As an aside, I also think the militant action yesterday which i'm sure some could argue was composition and others might say decompostion, was a massive success in coordination between groups of people with various levels of affinity and I'm sure different and distinct tendencies. I'm glad "Decomposition" didn't have the effect it was hoping for and create a wedge that kept people from being able to do the damn thing together, and willingness to support eachother in the repression that comes next.

^this is the good faith response I wasn't willing to do

anyone who actually believes (or wants us to believe) that french commies are brainworming anarchists in the US is extremely unlikely to be persuaded otherwise imho. they don't much bother with reality, they work backwards from strange conclusions.

but thanks for saying it!

anyway ... wonder who would benefit from that wedge you mentioned? ... hmmm! HMMM!

"the bulk of people who are part of these communist projeccts aren't managers but comrades with a shared desire for something else. "

Coz Left Unity broooow!

When you talk of "comrades" what are you talking about?

What if my MAIN interest in this life is mine, and I define myself not accordingly to your narratives but my uniqueness? That's why I anarchy, not commie, in the first place. We are not the same, as the meme goes.

Let's make no mistake, I ain't no cap and I'm fine with commoning... but communism implies a different and more defined set of practices founded on communal social arrangements (that will include a dangerous negation of individual experience and self-interest) and potential related patterns of primitive accumulation.
