Well forming a crew's probably the best idea in any riotious situation, as long as it isn't a closed and static crew, oriented around intent and ideas. But affinity groups are a contradiction of this, as these are communal forms, too often amounting to be a HERD. It's dividing groups and even pitting them against individuals and other groups, and the rest of the enslaved people out there. It becomes another form of separation, that is ferociously counter-revolutionary.

The most successful attacks I took part in were with people I didn't even know (and couldn't even identify, obviously). When things take an insurrectionary turn, you realize that you simply don't need age-old friends, dating back to the last strike or huge protest years ago. Having people around who know you is mostly useful when you get arrested and detained... I don't see where else it's such a big necessity. But even being detained is an opportunity to make new friends, while when you're locked inside an affinity relationship, it's limitating.
