They Flew Me to Canada, and Boy Are My Arms Tired!

Dane Rossman will speak in a few cities about his experience being extradited to Canada for actions during the 2010 G20 Summit in Toronto. Dane is an anarchist living on occupied Tohono O’odham land in Tucson, Arizona.

He’s been involved for several years in anti-colonial, No Borders, and prison/police abolition movements, and will try to situate his experience of incarceration and extradition within that history, with an emphasis on ongoing struggles in Arizona.

Dane hopes to use this opportunity to raise funds for the other G20 extraditees still being held by the Canadian state, so bring cash if you can.

"living on occupied Tohono O'odam land" sounds like a land occupation by the tribe...? But really its not a reference to living at any of the blockades or land occupations...(that would be interesting to hear about)- its a reference to colonialism. I get what you're trying to say... but its awkward- why not the occupied land of the Pascua Yaqui? Or culturally mexican families who have lived there for generations, or any other community- old or new- that generally dislikes the occupation? Or why not just say Tucson- if you are an anarchist isn't it a given you hate the current occupiers?

Anyway good luck with your events... are you going anywhere else?

That phrasing has seen general use for awhile now, where I'm from. I agree that it's confusing as fuck to people without any anti-collonial analysis but … like I say, its general-use already
