Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from Anarchist Black Cross Belarus

On 11 March anarchist Mikita Jemialjanau was convicted by judge Aksana Ratnikava for “a malicious violation of the imprisonment regime” (article 411, part 2 of the Criminal Code) to two additional years of imprisonment. Taken together with the rest of his initial sentence, it amounts to three and a half years of imprisonment. Court proceedings took place at the territory of prison nr. 4 in Mahilioŭ. Mikita acknowledged facts of minor insubordination to prison administration (e.g. refusal to name himself during the check-up), but refused to acknowledge any guilt. He explained that all facts of insubordination took place in protest of violation of his rights by prison administration (e.g. right to correspondence, religious rights). He repeatedly refused to stand up in presence of the judge, also when pronouncing his last word.

October 29, 2018, we, two anarchists comrades from Madrid, were arrested, accused of the incendiary sabotage of a Bankia ATM, which had taken place on April 13 of the same year. The action was in solidarity with Lisa, who had been sentenced to 7 years for a bank robbery in Aachen (Germany) – at present she is on parole.
There was an agreement between the parties: 1 year suspended prison sentence for each comrade and 7000 euros civil liability, paid before the trial.

Reflections on the Anarchist Demo at the Russian Consulate

from Montreal Counter-Info

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, a small but determined group of anarchists marched to the Russian consulate in Montréal, in solidarity with anarchists, anti-fascists, and anti-war movements active in the territories of Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus. We held up banners saying: “НЕТ ВОЙНЕ” (No War); “ПУТИН: ИДИ НА ХУЙ” (Go fuck yourself, Putin); “Solidarity with UKR[ainian] and RUS[sian] War Resisters”; “Fin aux Tsars! Up the Ⓐntifascist resistance partout”; and the anti-fascist flag. Despite our small numbers, we briefly took the streets, blasting a very sick playlist of mostly Ukrainian and Russian pop music and post-punk tracks. When we reached the consulate, we ziptied the “НЕТ ВОЙНЕ” and “ПУТИН: ИДИ НА ХУЙ” across the gate doors on the front of the consulate.

No War But Class War: Against State Nationalism and Inter-Imperialist War in Ukraine

No War But Class War: Against State Nationalism and Inter-Imperialist War in Ukraine

From Abolition Media

Written in 1915, when the Polish-born, Jewish revolutionary was imprisoned for her anti-war agitation, Rosa Luxemburg’s Junius Pamphlet, or The Crisis of Social Democracy, is one of the most powerful indictments of World War I and the bourgeois society that produced it ever published. Over 100 years since her assassination by the German Freikorps in 1919, Luxemburg’s words against war seem eerily appropriate today. She condemns Europe’s socialist parties for betraying the First and Second International’s foundational position against imperialist war by backing the governments of their respective countries in the “Great War.” In the case of her own party, the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Luxemburg rejects its claim that the country is engaged in “a war for Liberty against Russian despotism,” instead showing how it is an imperialist war on the part of Germany, as much as it is on the part of the Allied powers. Among anarchists, a similar split occurred at the time: Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin advocated joining the war on the side of the Allied powers and was (correctly) denounced by most anarchists, including Emma Goldman, Alexander Berkman and Errico Malatesta.

On militarism, the fight against Putin and the prospects

via libcom

Although we understand that, for certain reasons, both liberal and nationalist values will also make their own political capital. But this should not become a hindrance to advancing our agenda. In the meantime, Russia is a hotbed of fascism and imperialism, which must be put out before it's too late.
