The 2017 Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair is going to be postponed from April 22 to September 16, 2017.
Last fall we booked the two 2016 venues for this year’s event. A few weeks ago one of the venues cancelled our agreement, leaving us with no place to hold workshops/speakers. Since then, we have been unable to find a venue that has enough room for vendors as well as 2-3 workshop spaces that is also accessible (not requiring stairs), and available on the originally scheduled date of April 22.
Balkan Anarchist Bookfair (BAB) is an annual anarchist event organised each year in a different place on the Balkans. First BAB took place in Ljubljana in 2003. Since then, it has been taking place almost every year in different cities across the Balkans. After Ljubljana in 2003, it was organised in Zagreb (2005), Sofia (2008), Thessaloniki (2009), Zrenjanin (2010), Skopje (2011), Ljubljana (2013), Mostar (2014), Zadar (2015) and in Ioannina (2016). More informations on past bookfairs can be found here.
From Seattle Times
The typical media stereotype of a Seattle anarchist is a young person wearing black, smashing windows at a May Day march and screaming at nearby journalists and police officers.
But the Anarchist Book Fair at Washington Hall last Saturday felt more like being among hundreds of Quakers, most of whom just happened to be wearing black.
The Twelfth Anarchist Bookfair in Zagreb will take place on April 8th to April 10th, 2016.
Anarchist Bookfair in Zagreb (ASK - Anarhisticki sajam knjiga) is annual anarchist event and first eleven bookfairs went well, and we hope to bring in more and more people every year as participants, publishers, groups, projects - whoever is interested in what the bookfair has to offer.
For discussion part everything is open, as every year, so all suggestions, ideas, etc are welcome, as well as texts that you find interesting for further debate.
