Revolutionary Struggle case 2nd trial update.
The proposition of the prosecutor for the 2nd trial of the Revolutionary
Struggle case was postponed for Wednesday 24/02/16.
The judges refused to appoint a new lawyer for Revolutionary Struggle member Nikos Maziotis,
who on his request released his lawyer. Nikos Maziotis left today’s session and the judges decided to postpone it.
The judges show their coup-d’état-like behaviour once again, since they
are rushing to complete the trial – as they have stated themselves – so
On 22.02.16. members of Anarchist Group Rouvikonas disrupted the evening news broadcast of state ERT TV after forcing their way past a security guard and entering the live studio. The group demanded that they be allowed to read a prepared statement on air. During the negotiations TV producers switched to archive footage. The news anchorman offered to read the text however the group found this to be unacceptable and left the studio after a brief scuffle with news staff which allegedly left one cameraman injured. Outside the studio 22 of the comrades were arrested and detained by police.
More than 2500 people supported the great benefit concert of Void Network in Occupied Theater Embros in Athens, for the infrastructures of the Solidarity to the Refugees and Immigrants Movement in Exarchia and Lesbos island in 13/2/2016. The trials of anarchist prisoners who chose to give a violent form to their ideas and values, who chose to associate with fire, explosives and bullets their hatred towards Power, is another instance of a war between the Anarchist Revolt and the world of Sovereignty. That’s why, reaching the end of such a trial, the third one in a row I have to face due to my action as a member of the anarchist group of direct action Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, I feel the need for my words to meet again with every anarchist comrade outside the walls.
Since September 2009 when I made the leap towards illegal freedom while being wanted, choosing to continue anarchist action through taking part in the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire until now, it’s been six years. Six years, five of which have run through the concrete time and space and the suffocating reality of captivity. About 1825 days walking endless kilometers in circles under a piece of sky carved with barbed wire thorns. About 1825 days locked before sundown.
Anarchist Panagiotis (Panos) Aspiotis was wanted since March 2013 on firearms possession charges (“violation of the Arms Act”). In October 2015, he appeared voluntarily before the authorities. He was remanded and sent to a prison located far from Athens (his former residence). During these months in prison, he has refused to give the police a DNA sample.
In the evening of Sunday, January 10th 2016, we occupied the empty building on Themistokleous St. 58, in Exarchia, Athens. The intention is to open up a place where migrants who are blocked here in Greece, because of the European migration policies, can live and self-organize free from state control. We are a group of individuals from different places and of different contexts, connected through the fight against States, nations, borders, lager, prisons, capitalism; eventually against every part of this rotten system of domination that oppresses us.
