This week we feature an interview with Freddy, who is a member of the autonomous youth collective in Belgrade, Serbia known as Koko Lepo. We speak about the origins of the collective as growing out of a self organized kindergarten primarily for Roma children, about solidarity between anarchists and Roma people in Belgrade, about some history of the region, and about the complex nature of solidarity itself.
Anarchist comrade Gabriel Pombo da Silva who is held hostage by the Spanish state and has recently been ‘ghosted’ (transferred suddenly to another prison) from Topas, Salamanca, to Dueñas, Palencia, has started a hunger strike. The hunger strike is to demand a single cell, as the Spanish authorities always try to revenge Gabriel by putting him in cells with junkies, snitches and other scum, like rapists.
Amazon, a transfemale from Gender Anarky in prison in California, began a hunger strike the morning of October 7, 2015 for transfer to a women's prison. Amazon is legally a female. In January 2015, Amazon's birth certificate was amended by the Office of Vital Records in Sacramento to record her sex as "female." Under a new law signed by the governor, transexuals no longer need full sex-reassignment surgery to amend their vital records, but instead a doctor's declaration of transition to reflect their current gender. Amazon accomplished this. She then applied for a transfer to a women's prison. The prison required Amazon to present her new birth certificate. However, prison rules prohibit inmates from possessing birth certificates and Amazon asked the prison to verify the document with the Office of Vital Records. The prison refused to do so. Amazon then attempted to file a grievance over the issue, but she was again required to produce her birth certificate to pursue a grievance.
Written statement found in between the barricades and Molotov cocktails at the AustralUniversity of Chile (UACH), around noon on Wednesday May 13th, 2015:
“It is the time to act in our everyday life with our affine ones, for the destruction of the industrial prison complex and any social attempt to reform that disgusting system of death. Solidarity must never be an empty phrase, but an everyday action confronting power and supporting those who are sequestered in this war to the death.” Mauricio Morales.
Anarchist prisoners Tamara Sol and Tato (Natalia Collado) have announced that they will begin a solidarity fast with the hunger strike of Juan, Nataly and Guillermo. Starting from Wednesday, May 20, the comrades will abstain from one meal per day. They also stated that they have not ruled out further escalation of their fast in upcoming days.

Comrades, we hereby inform you all that as of 00:00 hours from today, May 18, 2015 that we the subversives who inhabit the high security prison have joined Juan Flores, Guillermo Duran and Nataly Casanova in their hunger strike struggle.
We do so with a deep sense of anti-prison solidarity and we make the same demands as our comrades who have already completed 34 days of hunger strike. These demands are:
- The immediate release of Enrique Alfonso Guzmán Amadeo considering the ridiculous accusations and the delusional evidence that has been presented by the prosecutors.
To the compañerxs in Chile and around the world who confront all forms of power. To all the rebellious minds and consciences that reject domination and long for total freedom.
To those who feel inclined to carry out actions: We who address you, are individuals and organized groups active in anti-authoritarian solidarity with anarchists and revolutionaries prisoners.
