Campania, Italy – Poster: “Only solution insurrection”

2021

As governor-criminal De Luca begins preparations for continuous enforcement of new waves of repression and mass control, the nightmare-reality of last year has led to the consolidation of opinion according to which rebellion against the status quo is now inevitable.

Why We Need Real Anarchy

From CrimethInc.

Don’t Let Trump’s Minions Gentrify Revolt

Politicians have come together across the aisle to decry the storming of the Capitol on January 6 as “lawless,” “anti-democratic,” and “extremist,” going so far as to misrepresent the result as “anarchy.” But the problem with the invasion of the Capitol was not that it was unlawful, undemocratic, or extremist, per se, but that it was an effort to concentrate oppressive power in the hands of an autocrat—which is precisely the opposite of anarchy. Direct action, militant tactics, and a critique of electoral politics will remain essential to movements against fascism and state violence. We must not let the far right associate them with tyranny, nor permit centrists to muddy the waters.

Board Game Review: Bloc by Bloc

From C4SS by Evan Pierce

For better or worse, board games tend to be a popular form of entertainment in radical spaces, and yet there are precious few games that explicitly deal with anarchist ideas. For those exhausted by games glorifying nationalistic conquest, monopoly capitalism, and settler colonialism, Bloc by Bloc: The Insurrection Game may offer a breath of refreshing (if tear-gas-scented) air. According to the introduction in the manual, Bloc by Bloc is “a semi-cooperative game simulating protest movements, riots and popular uprisings in urban areas of the world during the first decades of the 21st century.” The name refers to the black bloc, a tactic used to anonymize and thereby protect participants in these uprisings, and in the game refers to the literal wooden blocks that represent such participants.

The Anarchist Tension by Bonanno, on Immediatism Podcast

"Anarchists keep asking themselves the same question: What is anarchism? What does it mean to be an anarchist? Why? Because it is not a definition that can be made once and for all, put in a safe and considered a patrimony to be tapped little by little. Being an anarchist does not mean one has reached a certainty or said once and for all, 'There, from now on I hold the truth and as such, at least from the point of view of the idea, I am a privileged person.' Anyone who thinks like this is an anarchist in word alone.

Response to the week of revenge for comrade Michael Forest Reinoehl

via Athens Indymedia

Communique to the fighting comrades in so called america, from anarchist Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis, persecuted* for his relation to the guerrilla Organization of Revolutionary Self-Defense

The planned state murder of comrade Michael Forest Reinoehl reinforces our hatred towards the world of authority. In the greek territory, during the last period of bourgeois democracy, we have often experienced personified state executions by order of the authorities. From doctor Tsironis on July 11th 1978, to Michalis Prekas on 1st of October 1987 and Cristoforos Marinos on the 23rd of July 1996. Just as the greek state intended by murdering these fighters, so did the colonial state called USA, on the 3rd of September, aim to send to all the insurgents the message that nobody can surpass the iron law of the rulers’ military domination. We ought to pause for thought on these crucial matters born out of the state’s willingness to commit political murders. Such moments determine the evolution of the social movement for long periods of time.

Toward an Army of Ghosts on Immediatism Podcast

Tom Nomad would like to see anarchists operate in increasingly illegible ways, whilst conducting real-time analysis about police operations, as explained in this companion volume to The Master's Tools. To challenge the state, anarchists must operate within the gaps in police coverage, with the intention of disrupting policing itself, which is what enacts the state in material reality. Thinking theory itself is action, and has value to the extent that the theorizing we are doing interrupts policing and so disrupts the state.

Fires, either intentional or from lightning, have been a component of many ecosystems for millennia. We know that prior to colonization on Turtle Island, controlled fires were used by many indigenous peoples to alter their habitats in favourable ways. It helped facilitate travel by eliminating thick underbrush, increased the numbers of game animals and helped nut trees be more productive, among many benefits. It was a subsistence tactic that had been honed for generations.
