From The Brilliant

This is the first episode of Season Two of the Brilliant podcast (aka episode 30). In this new season we are going to split up the podcast into several different, but parallel projects. The first is a podcast conversation with Bellamy. This will be familiar in form and energy to Season One. The second is a different kind of a conversation (more of an interview) spread out over a year with Isaac Cronin, an influential figure in Bay Area post-situationist. We will cover most of the peaks and valleys of a life lived radically. The third is a series of interviews about infrastructure. How one becomes a provider of it. How one transverses the gap between DIY culture & education and becoming a practitioner. How the things one does as a j.o.b. is and is not relevant to the project of building for a qualitatively different world. Finally there may be some readings of obscure but relevant & interesting texts.

From It's Going Down

In the past year, the CrimethInc. Collective launched the ‘To Change Everything’ tour following the release of a text by the same name which was translated into multiple languages and published and distributed from Brazil to Korea. Hitting the road with a group of international anarchists who discussed a variety of struggles happening in their home countries, the tour hit large cities and smaller regions. The tour was in many ways a testament to the staying power and popularity of CrimethInc., as events were organized in many smaller areas without established radical groups and spaces. The tour also showed that even in places where you might not expect it, there is a growing interest in revolutionary anarchist ideas. However, the tour also made clear that in many places, there is little for those that are interested in these ideas to plug into. In a report following the tour, CrimethInc. wrote:

This Spring we (a two wheeled subset of LBC) plan on a big trip across the US. We'd like to visit your town. If you are in a town near where you see a gap of time please drop us a line at
the Little Black Cart email address. This trip we are doing presentations on nihilism, anarchist decision making, and a new networking project.

From The Spaces Between

All too often as anarchists in the U.S. we look to places like Oakland or New York for cues of how to get it done. The problem with this being that most of us don’t live in anarchist-disney world, where anything is possible and everything is flammable, and we couldn’t afford the rents in Oakland anyway.
