In every city in the world, no matter how small, there is at least one person who calls themselves an anarchist. This solitary and unusual presence must conceal a meaning that transcends the order of politics, just as the triumphant dispersal of seeds is not limited to a mere struggle for the survival of a botanical lineage. Perhaps the “psychic” evolution of political species corresponds to the wisdom of seminal sprinkling in nature.

On Saturday, September 20, the Anarchist Bookfair will take place in London — one of the main annual events of the anarchist movement in England. As part of the program, Antti Rautiainen will give a talk titled “Anarchism and Anti-War Resistance in Russia.” Time: 11:00–12:45 Thousands of Russians continue to resist the invasion of Ukraine. In the first month of protests against the war, 15,000 people were detained. Small street actions are still taking place sporadically, though they face harsh repression.

On August 28 in Jakarta, Indonesia, the police deliberately ran over a 21-year-old delivery driver named Affan Kurniawan with an armored truck. Indonesians have been protesting the government and its various scandals since the ascension of Prabowo Subianto, an open authoritarian and son-in-law of the dictator Suharto. Affan's murder was the final spark needed that led to mass unrest and insurrection against the government across the country.
