I was discussing the Occupy Movement and Pro-Palestine Encampments with some folks and someone asked why these movements failed to become "mainstream" as opposed to spaces for primarily already radicalized and marginalized populations. Putting aside that I believe this perspective is too simple, as I saw non-radicalized folks in the spaces and why would we make a separation between "marginalized" and "mainstream"? What does "marginalized" mean?, I wanted to examine the base assumption that "more accessibility" is somehow better or makes our movements more effective.

The summers of 2022 and 2023 were marked by two major struggles waged from inside the prison by our anarchist comrade Yannis Michailidis. With his primary demand being his release, which the state vindictively denied despite the years he had already served, G.M. escalated his protest to a hunger strike, reaching a critical health condition on both occasions. On the 30th day of his second hunger strike, he decided to further escalate his protest with a thirst strike, which ultimately resulted in the victory of his struggle and his subsequent release.

From Perspectiva by Dr. Swan Dao
Anarchism is a contentious, enigmatic, and nebulous subject. As a political movement, it is all too often misconstrued and distorted: when not trivialised or censored, it is maligned and demonised. For the general public, the figure of the anarchist brings to mind bomb-throwing terrorists, violent strikers, or unprincipled vandals.

The next public hearing in the Fénix 2 case will take place on June 9, 2026, at 8:15 a.m. at the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem. As one of the defendants in this case, I would like to make a few brief remarks.
We are an anti-authoritarian anarchist publishing distributor in the north of the territory dominated by the Mexican state. We appeal to international anarchist solidarity in order to raise funds for a high-volume printer so we can continue our work of editing, binding, and printing books, propaganda, and pamphlets.

Did you know that the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor has the largest collection of anarchist ephemera in the United States? It also has the oldest collection of radical literature in the United States. This assortment of literature and ephemera is called The Labadie Collection, and is on the sixth floor of the Harlan Hatcher Library. It is named after a Detroit anarchist named Jo Labadie who lived from 1850-1933. Ever the pack rat and collector of radical material, Labadie donated twenty crates of goods from his attic to the University of Michigan in 1911. This small collection eventually exploded into taking up a whole floor at the U-M Graduate library, and it includes writings of the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski. How has it lasted all these years? I talk with the librarian and curator of The Labadie Collection, Julie Herrada, to paint a fuller picture of the story.

Every Alley is Stud Alley
If you found yourself walking around Soma in the past year, and you happened to look up, you might have seen some graffiti scrawled beautifully across the edge of a random, otherwise nondescript roof, declaring, Every Alley is Stud Alley.
