Italy: International Meeting of the Libertarian Archives, Sep. 11-13

From FICEDL

Bologna · international meeting of the libertarian archives

Dear comrades, riding the wave of enthusiasm following the success of the BOAB – Bologna Anarchist Bookfair in September 2025, we have decided to try and breathe new life into another event that has not taken place for the past ten years. We are therefore delighted to invite you to an international meeting of the anarchist archives of the FICEDL network, the International Federation of Anarchist Documentation and Study Centres (ficedl.info).

FOUR FUTURES PART III – REPRESSION

From The Eclipse

SUCCESSFUL POLITICAL REPRESSION

Possibly the worst future that anarchists might face after the next election is one of competent political repression. This would be a government that, looking at the current problems that are causing unrest, does not attempt to relieve any of those problems but instead attempts to repress the unrest they cause...

Arizona: Fishing For Trouble

From Saguaros & Sabotage

The following piece is an anonymously submitted reportback from an action against Fisher Industries in Tempe on August 5th.

The border is like an open wound, sliced through the desert with no consideration for its people or ecology. Folks watched in anger as the ancient cottonwoods of Lochiel were bulldozed, save for the last Grandmother Tree, which is protected by the courageous land defenders who climbed its branches.

Maurizio Montecchi (1953-2026)

Maurizio Montecchi was born in Reggio Emilia on September 22nd, 1953. For most of his working life he worked in the family fishmonger, and then in a supermarket chain. He became an anarchist at an early age, and was one of the Reggio Emilia comrades who revived the tradition by founding the Pietro Kropotkin circle in Piazza San Salvatore. Always a libertarian communist, Montecchi was well known and appreciated in the city.

On what anarchist symbols mean

From Debate Me, Bro by MK Zariel

Q: What do elements within the anarchy symbol mean? what does the ancom flag mean?

A: This is a great question, and thank you so much for opening the conversation—a lot of non-anarchists see these symbols in the wild without knowing the history, and it creates fear and negative stereotypes.

How To Bury An Anarchist Book Release!

From Distinctively Dionysian

How to Bury an Anarchist has finally gone to press! This book took longer to release than I first expected, partly because Bacchus Editions has had many other books moving through, et partly because I pulled this one out of production at the last minute to add a full index. With a book this wide in scope, I wanted readers to be able to return easily to the things they cared about within it…

Solidarity Without Submission: Nestor, Ulysses, Ukraine and the Glory of Heroes

From More Wretch Than Sage by Roderick McMillan

Greek epics make us all Cassandras, the scenes are set in divine prophecy, but their acts are only understood in hindsight, the most human tragedy.

TotW: Boredom, huh, what is it good for? (absolutely nothing?)

Boredom used to be a simple negative. From Baudelaire's "worst evil" to "if you're bored, you're boring" to the anti-sleep rhetoric (as if sleep is some kind of null state), being "truly alive" also meant being inspired, on, active, go go going...

Now, in these days of constant, low-level, thoughtless stimulation (and overwhelm), when the go go going feels hectic and scarcity-driven, and inspiration is less joyful and more an expectation, more people are talking about how boredom is/can be an important part of a creative life or process.

About counter-information practices and a warning

From Dark Nights by Dark Nights & co

When we speak, it should be clear, to show reality and not to obscure it and/or reduce it to a spectacle.

We issue a warning about suspicious, manipulative and reckless individual(s) behind the “FAI ARCHIVE” – just set up by the “No War But My War” blog and Instagram, who have been trying to contact admins and sites in the international counter-information networks and anti-repression solidarity groups in a duplicitous way and spreading misinformations and smears. We note that FAI/FRI* has been recently designated as a foreign terrorist organisation by the American administration for which they also target “Antifa Ost“, etc, as part of a hyped and aggressive move against domestic and foreign radical-left and anti-state anarchist movements and tendencies of all sorts, including single-issue unrelated subjects to anarchism.
