From Act for Freedom Now! - Berlin, Germany

October 31 marks one year since the day in 2024 when our friend and comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris lost his life in the afternoon in an apartment on Arkadias Street, Athens. He died as an anarchist revolutionary, who chose armed struggle, when a bomb in his hands exploded.

Marius Mason Update

From Anarchist Agency by Panagioti Tsolkas, art by Marius Mason

This update on political prisoner Marius Mason is published by Agency in collaboration with Fifth Estate Magazine.

Earlier this year, Marius Mason — an anarchist, environmental and animal rights activist, vegan, artist, and trans advocate — was denied his scheduled gender affirming surgery by the Trump administration and transferred to a women’s prison. The Republican candidate’s campaign spent $27 million on ads condemning gender affirming care for prisoners and the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) quickly remanded those detained back to prisons corresponding to the gender they were assigned at birth.

Existence 2/2025: 30 years of the Anarchist Federation

From Anarchistická federace - October 16, 2025

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of our anarchist federation. Naturally, we didn’t hesitate to make this milestone the central theme of the autumn issue of the anarchist revue Existence. Such an anniversary offers a valuable opportunity not only for reflection and reminiscence, but also for drawing important lessons.

Report Back: One Year of Baltimore Zine Fest

From Rat Distro

In late winter of 2024 myself and a few friends were working on putting together the first Baltimore Zine Fest. We decided we wanted it to be outdoors, as we had no real venues that we could connect with to host such a radical free event, we landed on Herring Run park. Prior to this myself and others agreed that our anarchist and punk scenes needed a event that wasn’t just a punk show, we needed more community events. I’ve always been inspired by the Anarchist Book Fairs and wanted to replicate a similar experience with BZF but never had the time or energy to organize something like that until last year.

Ashanti Alston: An Anarchist Panther | PART 2

From The Dugout

In this in-depth conversation with Ashanti Alston — former Black Panther, political prisoner, and life long learner — we explore the radical meaning of life, death, and liberation. Ashanti reflects on the personal and collective sacrifices demanded by struggle, the weight of “social death,” and the spiritual grounding found in honoring ancestors.

Uchiyama Gudō’s Anarchist Buddhism

From Rethinking the World in East Asia 1850s-1990s

The Impact of International Socialism on Japanese Buddhism

Uchiyama Gudō’s background in Buddhism inspired his socialist beliefs; therefore, he understood socialism and anarchism not as departures from Buddhism, but as natural expressions of Buddhist egalitarianism. What he failed to grasp, however, were the conflicting natures of Buddhism’s inner liberation and anarchism’s outer revolution.

Boston Prosecutors Invoke Law Used Against Anarchists to Charge Protesters

From The New York Times

Four Boston police officers were injured in a confrontation near Boston Common with more than 200 protesters who the police said had refused to clear the roadway. Those arrested ranged in age from 19 to 28 and included students from at least two area colleges. All were to be charged with inciting a riot, a felony charge that is also known as “promotion of anarchy,” with origins in early 20th-century fears of anarchist violence.

ICE promised doxing cases against Portland ‘anarchists.’ Months later, no charges filed

From Oregon Public Broadcasting

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem set expectations high in July... she had promised swift legal action against “anarchists” and “Antifa-affiliated groups” who allegedly circulated the names, pictures and addresses of ICE officers in the city. Citing flyers of agents’ personal information and a photo of trash piled up on an officer’s lawn, she blamed unnamed politicians for “actively encouraging these attacks.”
