B O O G

To live under civilization is to live life as a mediated experience.
Politics is mediation of human interaction, the result of which is an absurd and disgusting spectacle. As a method of control, the issues of so called community are haphazardly jammed into "proper channels". Those complicit in the existence of this concept are forced to find acceptable ways of showing and solving
issues related to their slavery.

Those who argue against the destruction of the politics state that without it, we would live in a world of brutes who maim instead of vote. The essence of the civilized is reflected in this sentiment, as it shows the absolute terror evoked when confronted with just the mere possibility of engaging in free life. While the feral steal any scrap of freedom they can, the civil beg for any buffer between them and human interaction.

Revolutionary programs seek to remedy this by reshaping(or less commonly destroying) the systems that produce the misery. On the off chance they have their way, they end up recreating the exact same hellworld; as the unruly nature of unmediated life is completely incompatible with strict, utopian desires. The nihilists are aware of such truths and often resign themselves to the darkest reaches of the world, content with the small globs of manna that may fall in their hiding places. Regardless of your desires, there is one disruption of our material conditions that is starting to shake the foundation that we all stand on: The Boogaloo.

The Boogaloo, often styilized as "Boog", is a term used by insurgents(mostly right wing) to refer to a second civil war in the United States. Fascists see it mainly as an opportunity to cleanse the states and establish a "proper"government; others have come to see it as a chance to execute their own left-wing agendas. The size of the country, its relationship with firearms and its many headstrong citizens will lead to a breaking point, the start of which is already clear. This is considered by state actors who, while simultaneously denying the possibility, spend a shit ton of time disrupting every possible pocket of semi-coherent insurgency.

Between minor things such as questioning Rojava visitors and larger operations such as the deliberate disruption of black identity groups such as The Iron Fist; its clear that the threat of civil war and/or balkanization is real in the mind of the state. And as collapse stacks catastrophe after catastrophe, the government's grip on its slaves loosens, creating more opportunities for insurgents(whether they be fascist or not) to create their own autonomous zones. For some of the people reading this, their frontline for this emerging conflict consists of the anarcho-liberals.

The model of anlib action is based on the assertion that there will be infrequent and insignificant disruptions of "the normal". Supply chains breaking down and ecological collapse are recognized as issues, but issues that are only used to cultivate an air of defeat. Anlibs, even the insurrectionary breeds, lie dormant doing activist busywork until "it goes down". The construction of autonomy is considered a pastime, just a few hours at the food distro when one isn't doing the other kind of social work. These actions lack the agility required for what is unfolding.

This was made clear when these hobbies were challenged with the coronavirus, as collapse immediately had a tangible effect on what was to perceived to be a static slot in life. The disaster came and while anlibs imagine themselves as cunning and adaptable, reality shows a group of cowards who hide behind the abstraction of "public health".

The Boogaloo has already started. There are not enough phone zaps, demos, co-op coffee shops, catholic workers or libraries to prevent it. The United States is falling apart and power held by the state will start flowing back to the people. Anyone bold enough bare their fangs will shape the former United States. Make no mistake, you are already participating in the next civil war.

That's the first time liberal

That's the first time liberal minded anarchists have been labelled as anlibs, an-libs. I've been critical in the past of those anarchs who lean towards the liberal sentiments, I wouldn't say they are repugnant morons, I can even agree with and sympathize with them on a few topics or strategies. Look at it this way, I would rather go to bed with one rather than with a racist conservative or militant feminist.

TheTao (not verified)
haha, i feel that 100% errsian

i feel like almost everyone is a little bit of a "liberal" though just because that's the basic scaffolding of the society we live in, "tolerance", "let people be themselves", i feel weird about any label applied to anyone these days. How militant does one have to be to be a "militant feminist"? How racist does one have to be to be a "racist conservative"? The people on the left and the liberals often show themselves to be very racist and conniving about it.

Errsian (not verified)
I don't like labels either,

I don't like labels either, only for the most extreme persons do I attach labels if with friends as a warning or potential hazardous relationship to be avoided. A militant feminist for me would be the likes of serial killer Aileen Wuornos who hated men wanting to have sex with her. By conservative racist someone like Hitler or David Duke.

I will posit that Stirner was

I will posit that Stirner was a liberal to a certain degree, he was opposed to violent and revolutionary fanaticism, seeing ìt as another ideological spook which infects the otherwise balanced inner-self individual being.

TheTao (not verified)
yeah in that sense he was more like a

"centrist" or a "liberal" (or maybe just anti-political?) than a lot of anarchists, and when people say that I'm a liberal i don't really dispute them other than the fact that i find liberal/normie morality to be very questionable, it seems to sit in everyone's minds now adays and its everywhere.

The other problem with calling people "liberals" or speaking in terms of that label is that in a strictly political sense liberalism is a different thing even if it's pretty intimately related to what we are talking about right now

Errsian (not verified)
Liberal can be used to

Liberal can be used to describe a tolerant broad-minded free thinker without a dogmatic and strict moral code, and I will break bread with them and still proudly call myself an anarch.

"The ABC7 I-Team has new information on Carillo since officials identified him. The I-Team has learned he is 32 years-old and an active duty US Air Force sergeant based out of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield.

"Sources tell ABC7 News' Dan Noyes that investigators found many improvised explosive devices inside Carillo's home Saturday and that the FBI has taken over the case. The working theory is the sheriff's deputies "interrupted something big that was about to happen."

"On his Facebook page on May 31, Carillo reposted a meme that said, "I'll never let racist white people make me forget about the dope white people I know exist. I love y'all." The post includes fist emojis of different skin tones, and both of the "whites" in the meme were crossed out. Carillo wrote, "The only race that matters, the human race.""

§Suspect May Be Connected To Oakland Federal Officer Slaying
by Fred
Sunday Jun 7th, 2020 1:55 PM
"Steven Carrillo, the alleged gunman who ambushed and killed a Santa Cruz sheriff deputy and wounded two other law enforcement officers, was a staff sergeant assigned to Travis Air Force base and may have a connection to the slaying of a Federal Security officer killed in Oakland during a night of violence related to the death of George Floyd.

"In a statement Sunday, the FBI said it was investigating a connection between Carrillo’s white van and a similar vehicle that may have been used in the fatal shooting of federal protective services officer David Underwood and the wounding of a second officer on May 29 during a night of unrest last week when an Oakland protest over the death of George Floyd turned violent.

“The investigation into the incident in Ben Lomond, Calif. is ongoing,” the FBI said in a statement. “We are working with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department to determine a possible motive and/or links to other crimes committed in the Bay Area, to include the shooting of the FPS officers in Oakland.”

§Carrillo Wrote "BOOG" in Blood Before Being Arrested
by Fred

sm_steven-carrillo-boog-boogaloo-libertarian-santa-cruz-sheriff-deputy-killed-ben-lomond.jpg
original image (696x934)
Carrillo wrote on a car in his own blood several statements before he was taken into custody. One word he wrote was "BOOG," which is short for "boogaloo". One statement appears to read "stop the duopoly".

From Wikipedia: "The boogaloo movement, members of which are often referred to as boogaloo boys or boogaloo bois, is a loosely organized American far-right extremist movement. Members generally identify as a libertarian citizen-militia, and say they are preparing for a coming second American civil war, which they call the "boogaloo". Widespread use of the term dates from late 2019, and members use the term (including variations, so as to avoid social media crackdowns), to refer to violent uprisings against the federal government or left-wing political opponents, often anticipated to follow government confiscation of firearms."

More background from a news report on KRON:

"While Carillo was still on the run and bleeding, he apparently scrawled a message in blood on the back of the white sedan that he fled in, photographs sent by a witness to KRON4 show.

"One message says, “Stop The Duality.” The second message is illegible.

"Carrillo was also heard yelling “stop the duality” in a cellphone video recorded as he was being led away in handcuffs by deputies. He’s also recorded berating the deputies during his arrest, telling them, “This is why I’m sick of these god d**n police. This is what I’m sick of.”"

§Fellow Serviceman Recalls Carrillo's Disdain for Police Brutality
by Fred
Tuesday Jun 9th, 2020 5:00 PM
From an article in the Pajaronian:

"Erhardt, who runs his own financial planning company, said he kept in touch with Carrillo via Facebook, and spoke with him recently about his financial future. He said that news of the attack came as a bombshell."

"While Carrillo made his disdain for police brutality known through Facebook posts over the past few weeks—he is a self-proclaimed Libertarian who is against government involvement and wants to abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms—there was no indication he was considering a violent attack, Erhardt said."

It’s absolutely a little alarming.

https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/06/11/santa-cruz-and-oakland-police-kil...

A U.S. Air Force sergeant accused of ambushing Santa Cruz County deputies is also believed to be the gunman who shot a federal officer in Oakland, a law enforcement source confirmed Thursday, linking the extraordinary tragedies that may have been spurred in part by extremist, anti-law enforcement views found in the dark corners of social media.

The explosive claim connecting the cases comes the same day that Steven Carrillo, 32, was charged with 19 felonies, including murder, attempted murder, explosives charges and carjacking after the deadly rampage Saturday afternoon that terrorized the mountain community of Ben Lomond, where Carrillo grew up and lived with his father.

In a 14-page criminal complaint filed in Santa Cruz County Superior Court, Carrillo — who was on active duty at Travis Air Force Base — was charged with murder in the death of Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller and with the attempted murder of Deputy Alex Spencer, who was critically injured and remains hospitalized. They had been responding to a call from a concerned citizen in nearby Boulder Creek who reported seeing firearms and explosives in Carrillo’s white van.

In all, Carrillo was charged on Thursday with assaulting a firefighter and trying to kill three other law enforcement officers, as well as the resident who ultimately pinned him to the ground as he tried to steal the man’s car during a desperate run from police. The charges include special circumstances of lying in wait, which makes Carrillo eligible for the death penalty, though prosecutors have not said if they will pursue death.

His first court appearance in that case will be a Friday afternoon arraignment in front of Judge Paul Burdick.

The complaint does not mention the Oakland case nor Carrillo’s increasingly hostile anti-government social media posts that alarmed Facebook friends. And it remains unclear why an active duty Air Force sergeant would target members of federal and local law enforcement.

“The link to the Oakland murder doesn’t necessarily surprise me,” said Troy Hunter, a Silicon Valley software engineer who was one of Carrillo’s alleged carjacking victims in Ben Lomond on Saturday. Hunter thwarted Carrillo’s getaway when he removed the keys from the ignition and ran. “It’s more surprising that this guy being an active Air Force member would go down that route. It’s absolutely a little alarming.”

As the country grapples with the Black Lives Matter protests and police use of rubber bullets and tear gas, the rampage in Ben Lomond and the killing in Oakland of a federal officer, who was black, further entangle any notion of clear left and right political battle lines.

A former friend of Carrillo’s — Justin Ehrhardt, who served in the Air Force with him before retiring — said Carrillo’s Facebook posts point to a right-wing extremist group that includes former and active military members. In particular, Carrillo was sharing memes about the so-called “Boogaloo” movement that considers itself a libertarian anti-government citizen militia that is preparing for the next American civil war. Last week, the FBI arrested three adherents to the Boogaloo movement in Nevada, charging them with inciting violence with Molotov cocktails and other explosives at protests over the death of George Floyd.

Carrillo considered himself a libertarian, Ehrhardt said, speculating that police use of force during the protests may have pushed him over the edge.

“Excessive use of force on unarmed civilians — that was a huge thing for him,” Ehrhardt said. “It was a mental tipping point for him.” Ehrhardt imagined it was Carrillo’s way of saying, “If I’m going to fight for something, it’s going to be against the establishment.”

According to the complaint, Carrillo killed Gutzwiller while “lying in wait” for officers on Saturday afternoon at his Ben Lomond home and opened fire and lobbed pipe bombs before stealing one vehicle and attempting to carjack several others. Carrillo ultimately was wrestled to the ground by a nearby, unnamed resident whom Santa Cruz Sheriff Jim Hart praised for a “remarkable, heroic” act.

Carrillo also is charged with the attempted murder of that resident, who Hart said knocked away a pipe bomb and firearm as he grappled with Carrillo before officers arrived.

On Thursday, a source close to the investigation confirmed Carrillo is also believed to be behind the May 29 Oakland shooting that claimed the life of Federal Protective Services officer Dave Patrick Underwood. Underwood had been patrolling the federal building in Oakland blocks from a protest as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in cities across the country after the Minneapolis police killing of Floyd.

Federal prosecutors are reviewing the Oakland case and are expected to make a filing decision in coming days.

In testimony before a congressional panel on Wednesday, Underwood’s sister, Angela Underwood-Jacobs, said her heartbreak and grief are unexplainable.

“My brother wore a uniform, and he wore that uniform proudly. I’m wondering, where is the outrage for a fallen officer that also happens to be African American?” Jacobs told the House Judiciary Committee. “I truly hope that you take your positions, your offices so seriously that you want to go back and really work together and collaborate, because if you can’t get it right, there’s no hope for the rest of us.”

Carrillo had been living with his father in Ben Lomond over the two years since his wife, who was also in the Air Force, died by suicide while in South Carolina on a training program. He has been a member of a security squadron at Travis Air Force Base since 2018.

Carrillo has two school-age children who are living with his late wife’s parents.

Gutzwiller, the officer Carrillo is charged with killing, left behind a pregnant wife and young child. More than a thousand people turned out the day after his death for a vigil, and while it was clear that the case had national political overtones, the tragedy was deeply personal for this local community.

“There’s a hole in all of our hearts now,” Hart said.
