The Brilliant on Atassa/eco-nihilism. "Thoughts of the Week on Anarcho-
transhumanism"? Zoltan's "Immortality Tour." Chemical pollution in extreme
ocean depths, biodiversity expiring, addiction as a condition of society.
Antarctic ice shelf nears end. Work of Layla AbdelRahim, Chellis Glen-
denning, Zygmunt Bauman. Action news, seven calls (two off-air).

At 25:37 mins JZ says he's losing hope in his own scene, "which is in sad shape".
At 26:27 JZ says "there may not be any breakdown of civ".

Of course, neither of these lamenting confessions imply No Hope at all; just, NOT blind faith, NOT blind Hope. The big old perhaps, which is incredibly pessimistic, hardly optimistic in any real sense. In any event, that's about as nihilist as any of us are; as any of us would be for having spent more than five minutes in a dumb-ass anarchist scene and for more than three minutes in the real world of everyday people vying for a bigger slice of the pie that themselves are immune to the anarchist critique.

There is very little reason for Hope; and it warms my cockles to hear JZ admit it.

This last sentence made me laugh. Thanks, anon!

I was promised an ecological collapse, goddammit! I've got years of not investing invested into this shit!

Zerzan acknowledges his hope is baseless?
