Revolting: Eco-Absurdist Rebellion book release

feeling barfy after reading LJ intro

“‘revolting positivity’ is a provocative concept” Max Cafard

“Julian’s project is not to create some Grand Synthesis of various European thinkers, however. This text is more like a product of philosophical foraging than academic rigor – and as a result is far more interesting and enjoyable. ” Lawrence Jarach

This book is largely an attempt to voice a rebel praxis that is hostile towards and revolted by the annihilation of the living that is Leviathan’s daily normality. Subjects explored throughout the pieces contained within include reason, negation and nihilism, gender, work, story telling, domestication, folk, diaspora, death camp resistance, revolutions, games, love, mass extinction, culls, dialectics and dialogues, separation and co-existence, and poetry. There are also autobiographical aspects to the writing and points of reflecting on my previous writings.

My intention is to have this book available in print eventually, but am putting out the read online/free download and print A4 option out now, as I am keen to share this without delay.

Extract
“The world is absurd and the strangeness of the world is the absurd. Ecologically absurd; it is strange that there is life here at all. Why is there life here? Why do living beings will their lives and fight to survive? Why did they and why do they and why will they? Answers and reasons are all absurdities – no one knows the answer, or even if there is an answer.

The world is strange. The folks we are in close relationship with and love more intensely are strange, confusing ,and utterly absurd. Why are they here? Why did they do that? Why are they doing that? Whatever answers they might give to these questions, accepting their answers involves accepting the absurd limits of their ability to reason and the absurdity of reasoning – acceptance of them begins with being-with them for the sake of being-with, rather than Cause or utility or any reason requiring justification. Most individuals are strangers to use. We do not know them. How they might have arrived upon our paths is a darkness that we cannot entirely see through ….”

god DAMNIT ...ok, going to go back and reread gender nihilism and THEN i'll read the follow up text but you know what julian? you know fukin what?! i'll bet you $20 that alyson DOES NOT ENDORSE "TOTALITARIANISM" by any sane, non-egoist-jackass definition you ... you clickbaiting fuck!

i'll be back with receipts

"So, what comes after Gender Nihilism? It is certainly not a politics of radical negation, it is not a refusal to engage in positive political struggle, it is not a refusal to define our demands. Rather, what comes after Gender Nihilism must be a materialist struggle against patriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism"

"This means overcoming colonialism and white supremacy which rely of gendered discourses to justify their violence and establish ideologies of hypersexuality and deviance. This means recognizing that these things can only be overcome by a communist politics oriented towards the future. Abandon nihilism, abandon hopelessness, demand and build a better world. "

^ if you read all this and get "totalitarianism" ... brainworms are YOU

yeah "materialist", as in the real world, where any solutions to real problems would very likely be found, not that you'd find anything or know where to look... ... ...but coincidentally that's where you can go fuck yourself ziggles! lmk if you ever find the place?

Ziggy kiss me, Lumpy hugs me
I think they're okay
If they don't give me proper credit, I just walk away
They can beg and they can plead
But they can't see the light (That's right)
'Cause the brah with the cold hard cash is always Mister Right

'Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl

Wayne Price romance, Le Way slow dance
That's all right with me
If they can't raise my interest, then I have to let them be
Calvin tries and Fauvenoir lies
But I don't let them play (No way)
Only brahs that save their pennies make my rainy day

'Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
Living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl

polite but awkward stranger hug?

strongly caution against smooching ziggy tho! you can do better

Another poster here, this "materialism" refers to the absence of any essentially empathic anarch set of values, it does not refer to the obvious pragmatism of physical existence, like clothes, houses, cars, internet etc. Let's not dumb-down the discussion to your base Marxist values please!

try and stop me shithead!
oh wait, you are. and it's not working.

anyway, anybody's guess if you're actually stupid enough to not realize we're talking about the same thing. material conditions. materialism. reality. every day problems and solving them in a literal way. that's all the same thing

unless you have a meltdown due to your brainworms or you're being deliberately dumb as shit with your rhetoric also cuz brainworms. who cares if you're sincere or not? go fuck yourself either way ;)

One of you needs to do your own damn dishes and the other needs to windmill your arms faster while rushing your enemy.

First live, and then philosophize... with a hammer.

This real world that you speak of does not even have any agreement. This is why we still have ideologies and differing values. There are also what the late great Robert Anton Wilson called reality tunnels that are mediated by different values. There is no separating reality from inter subjective value and ultimately there is no such thing as objective reality.

The only objective that does exist is existence itself and existence is not the same thing as reality.

I LIKE how theanuscollective protecs SirEinzige's trolling but not those whomst reverse troll him.

when did this despicably ignorant neologism "whomst" come into being? it's a pseudointellectual abomination.

"The world is absurd and the strangeness of the world is the absurd"

Tell us you haven't grasped the absurd without explicitly saying it. This absurd is not the strangeness of the world, Julian. It's simply not. If your thesis is based on this misunderstanding (I have not read the remainder of your text) then it will merely continue with inaccuracies and further misunderstanding.

Do spend some more time reading and learning before writing and teaching. Or don't.

Oh lordt...

"I am here, amidst absurdity. I am revolted. I am revolting. I am in-revolt. I revolt, therefore the absurd is."

Camus is revolted. Camus weeps.

Yes, the hilariousness of misunderstanding "revolt" has also been noted.

Simply amazing.

Discourse on absurdity is the lesser interesting aspect of Albert Camus' writings and views. I think it was Debored who once dismissed it as vague, shallow concept that reflects a paper-thin social critique, tho I ain't a great accumulator of quotations.

I'll take the assertive, offensive, positive absurdity of Pataphysics and Dadaists any day over this discourse on Absurdity that feels just like liberal Radiohead type of lamenting the state of society.

Well for sure you shouldn't read anything by Langer so you can maintain your smug ignorance of how, in true Stirnerian fashion, he appropriates Camus, turns him on his head and owns the absurdity of positive revolt. But yeah, definitely judge the discourse by your own uninformed prejudice.

Just that judging by this brief presentation above, this reads like more Camus-leaning Absurdity discourse. But digging a lil deeper in the text I find this:

"My experience of the world is that it is an unreasonable place. Rather than from any book of philosophy, I learned pessimism more through the death of my mother in my early childhood, my father’s drug addiction, the abuses I experienced from family members and bullies at school, and the discovery in my late teens that I was born with a cancerous brain tumour, which very nearly was my death. I cannot make sense of the world, answer any question of “why?” nor find any reason for any of this. Camus states in The Myth of Sisyphus that the strangeness of the world is the absurd. To be without reason, but in absurdity and with absurd reasons, seems to me to exist in a confusing, unexplainable, and uncertain place. Shestov states in All Things Are Possible that the business of philosophy is to teach humans to live in uncertainty, not to reassure us, but to upset us. Thinking about the philosophy that I am attempting to communicate here, I notice that this is about space, place, environment, world, or ecology. Living-in-uncertainty-as-place and the absurd as the-strangeness-of-the-world-as-habitat are at the core of the philosophy that I am seeking to communicate here. I call this eco-absurdism.

So yes, this is part Camus style; part, maybe, where I was also getting at with the "positive absurdism", but not yet enough corpo-real and assertive to be a *thing*. Just some dude's idea. Like my idea. So I say, eco-absurdism, yay! Go for it. But also DEW IT.. do it, so that it becomes a situation in itself.

On the "strangeness"... What "the world" is about is rather simple to understand, as far as you're ready to accept its superficiality, its dramaturgy. You look at it form the perspective of a wild creature moving from the wild space, and looking at a road, railroad, cycling trail, parking lot...

If one starts from a standpoint of Reason and meaning, they'll of course be continuously in dismay at how nonsense society is; that's predictable. But if you approach the world more like a clown.... that the world is a shallow, terrible spectacle on a continuously evolving stage, but with real physical consequences, it all makes sense. Bureaucracies are all about stage-setting, in a way, just like technology is but to give an impression of life and life support, or a promise of life, claimed by the biopower.

Also quit with the appeal to authority fallacy, please. While Langer looks like a nice guy I'd surely cook in a forest camp with and has some neat creative bursts, the fact some dude publishes and tables doesn't make their theory any more valuable than But that, TOO, is part of the stage-setting. Yeeeaaa...

I'm so full of my splendid Stirnerian self I gotta copy-paste this stuff! I feel like an endless theory-generating mental machine still parasiting comment sections but only do it part-time and unpaid, and with little community support. I long passed the moment of stardom-making as that's not a stage I'm into, so don't expect tabling from me unless it's for good vegan organic food and also random garbage. But feel free to ask me questions while I'm still around, and I promise I'll think over it while riding my Mobile Throne across urban, rural and occasional suburban stages and produce with a thoughtful answer a bit later. Thank you, have a good one.

Bro, close your quotes. Where does JL end and where does GEF begin? Yuck!

But no.

So just came back from a ride, and I really don't know how to answer this question. I'm super-okay and not-okay in a myriad of facets...

But I'll be alright for now?

Let's talk about dumpster poutine. Dumpster poutine. Where it comes from, what it does. Why is it doing what it's doing? Get it out of my face. What about dumpster poutine? It's not my jam I don't buy jam I buy maple syrup and I kiss it on the lipssssssssss.

What does any of what you said have to do with the price of dumpster poutine?

Another poster here to answer your question. It's because "dumpster poutine" is part of the simulcra!

When is this *not* the case for someone?

The price of dumpster poutine is absurdly high. Summering in Quebec and wintering south of the 30th parallel. Sheesh!

> wintering south of the 30th parallel

Meh, old custom of the yuppie hippies, especially those shitty Muhrikan tourists everyone hates... not my palate. Although Mexico, India and SE Asia are worthy destinations just for the palate! But no dumpster poutines :-(

"Although Mexico, India and SE Asia are worthy destinations just for the palate! But no dumpster poutines :-("
Yep, you only get dumpster poutine if the rich outnumber the poor 10 to 1, in other words, in affluent Western nations like Muhrika.

Or u have a poor sense of socio-demographics, dawg. Same for your knowledge of culinary cultures...(dumpster poutines in the US? How can this be?).

Hey brah, it's mostly the bourgeoisie who deliver your delectable poutines to the dumpster, not the 1% billuonaires, their dumpsters contain caviar, dumpster caviar, for the aristocratic anarchs of this world!

And I'm fine with that, but the "bourgeoisie'" are the same as the billionaires. The normie chumps that keep burning money on 20$ poutines just coz they can are petty bourgeoisie, or middle-class... whatever that means.

Dumpster poutines? You leftist peasant! I only dine on dumpster caviar as every anarch of an aristocratic temperament should aspire to! Who is Fauv?

Most of the "caviar" you eat in your Holy Muhmuhmuhrikah is fake. The real caviar is mostly found on Euro markets, and while I DID find REAL dumpster caviar once while in Germany - that I tasted with an anarcho-leftie in their posh mom's apartment.

Don't try to beat me at dumpster rarities, kid... I'm Level 30 Hunter/Scavenger. Coz this is my fucking job! I TRAIN everyday and do it at 32 kph average for fun, as I burn all the red lights and do fart jokes on the normies and the rednecks. If I get your location at once I will raid your place and fill it with load of trash delicacies!

Yo, I'll tell you that I really really want to thank Julian for taking the spotlight off of me.
I wanna really, really, really
Wanna zigazig, ah!

Imagine Sisyphus happy. Accept the absurd.

Life is utterly meaningless. The cosmos is completely indifferent to individuals.

Preferences have no real foundation. Preferences do not require justification.

Interrogate your desires and indulge yourself in them—or don't. Doesn't fuckin' matter anyway.

It matters as far as someone doesn't wanna be a prisoner of their insatiable, desires or dubious origins. If one devolves to be into kids, for instance (as this is relevant to you), they'll forever be *enslaved* to these dangerous, toxic, devious desires instead of being above thrm, and being able to say "no, I won't lower myself to this".

A head above all things is the true way of the anarch.

That's why self-control and self-possession is inherently part of being anarch. I don't see why I should give a fuck about externalities like 'the cosmos", any more than why the cosmos should care about me. It's about me living with myself within this cosmos.

There is nothing more amusing to philosophical pessimists than when incels and edgy sadbois invoke philosophical pessimism to make edgy, diarrheaesq proclamations that they absolutely must share with the world even though they, like, tOootally don't care and understand it's meaningless, or whatever bro.
Amused!.

Kevin Tucker is now the poster child for the alleged health benefits of the paleo diet!

thx friend! i don't bother with kevin tucker jokes, that well dried up fast
