i really hate to have to be the one to point this out; please don’t label any sad anti-social fuck hermit you come across as an “incel”. Just because someone lacks the social life of a normal human being does not automatically make them part of a misogynist deah-cult that’s a breeding ground for school-shooters and lone wolves. These “incels” are a very specific ideology, not a generic term you can pin on anyone you find pathetic. They wear what for others could be a trivial fact of life, as something central to their identity and their worldview. This goes along with so called “volcels” and MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way). I know ya’ll aren’t so much into “antifa work”, so maybe the details the online far-right are not so present for you.

and was surprised by that usage. but i think the point (if there is one) is to de-mystify the specific category. loner people are dangerous for a variety of reasons, frequently unintentional. i know 'cause i have those tendencies myself.
a! tends to be interested in muddying clear categories, i think, for the purposes of understanding outliers, and how people become the monsters they are.
at any rate, that's what i get from him.

you know, i think all in all it’s pretty inconsequential and harmless, like in many cases of imprecise use of words so as long as they’re heard and understood in the specific context, and get the tone and gist the overall message was going for.

my comment came from not so much to make a theoretical correction or a scold, and more along the lines of saying “please don’t call me an incel, friend” since among the comments they referred to in the TOTW were some of mine. i’ve never even coincided in the same platform or forum, or even physical space with that horrifying and disgusting internet subculture.

i like to think of myself as well liked by the people interact with daily, and to bolster my bare minimum self-esteem with it. and i’d like to think that the fact that i need more time alone crying in my room “at the end of the day” than the average person does not make me into a monster or scum.

all in all it’s very insignificant in the big scheme of things, internet name-calling, but i find it in the same trend of people calling anyone with environmental concerns an “eco-fascist / eco-terrorist”.

but i would contest what you say that “loner people are dangerous for a variety of reasons”. you say
“i know 'cause i have those tendencies myself”. well i think you’re projecting and overgeneralizing.

in terms of generalizations and stereotypes, it’s only a lone young adult male which comes to mind as “dangerous” when we imagine him alone. the rest might be seen as “in danger” for the fact of being alone (including children or elderly people of any gender, or women of any age).

something to be said about the further stigmatizing “neurodivergent” or people who deal with autism, depression, or social anxiety, or even phobias and anxieties related to sex, maybe even due to past trauma. on top of that people with transgressive ideas that might endanger them, as anarchism could be an example of in some places.

"in terms of generalizations and stereotypes, it’s only a lone young adult male which comes to mind as “dangerous” when we imagine him alone. the rest might be seen as “in danger” for the fact of being alone (including children or elderly people of any gender, or women of any age)."
maybe, but i'm an old lady. and when i said dangerous, i meant, for example, that i make assumptions about other people based on stories i tell myself in my isolation, and then to the extent i act on those stories/assumptions, i can seem pretty crazy.
but yes, many many many people are lonely and sad and are easily seen as both victims and dangerous.

just trying to be neither. :)

Hey, they were pretty nice! Thanks, the collective. I will be leaving for a week as per my sanction by the various anons, and, do hope that I haven't been too much of nuissance. Take care 'til then, everyone!

dear daydreamdays,
you should know that the vote for your banishment only passed by one vote. while we of the minority voters disagree with your banishment, we must uphold the sanctity of democracy.
may you have a peaceful week of hope and change.

A!, I require FAR MORE convincing arguments than your preposterous assertion that "polyamory is THE MOST effective way to keep anarchist communities "strong"...Care to back this up?----a friend
