Oy, and I can not stress this enough, vey.

1. Maturity or immaturity aside, fear of death is the issue.

2. Immature here implies the ability to grow out of it.

3. Immature here also refers to the cultural immaturity of 'western', linear culture that sees death as final.

At least that would be what I brought to the essay. But, of course, ageism is rife in our world in both directions too.
