it always stuck with me how Aragorn described nihilism somewhere (forget which text/podcast) as not a position one could ever be for or against. it also seems to me not necessarily a conclusion one always arrives at, but rather a sentiment one possibly starts from. a lingering sentiment that comes and goes.
I also cant help but think of this description of nihilism by Vasily Rozanov (by way of Vaneigem in Revolution of Everyday Life): "The show is over. The audience get up to leave their seats. Time to collect their coats and go home. They turn round...No more coats and no more home."
