well well well, but the chicago anarchists were not all exactly syndicalists or that positive to the unions. Sure there was, like is documented in the german periodicals of that time and place but there was also opposite views. And still: being symphatetic to union workers, joining their unions (if not by force) because you want to agitate and the later ideology with "anarchists" ending up as the chairmen etc... is not exactly the same. Also bakunin held a paralell activity of the anarchists and the workers movement, or as galleani put it "the workers movement and the anarchist movement are parallels... but it is known that parallels never meet."
