In a practical sense, what distinguishes communization from things anarchists have been talking about and doing for a long time? Squatting, sharing, business collaborations ;) to fund the big cataclysm er rupture, and an orientation against private property. Do the communizers do something different than anarchists when things get to that pie in the sky level some day (some day that never comes)? when we all get to test our whackadoo ideas about how to live together.

It seems like a case of the "narcissism of minor differences" or a rebranding. Perhaps its when anarchists 'graduate' from what they perceive as their stupid anarchist peers and start calling themselves small c communists, autonomists, anti-state marxists, etc. Maybe it's partially a social clique thing too. Maybe people run out of anarchist things to read that inspire them and its fun to get lost in the smart marxy stuff. I have known more than one person that did this graduation...it has felt like "ok cool you call yourself a communist now, whatever"
