Yeah, to be convinced that there's nothing about the organizational form that makes all the division of labor (get defer or not) possible (if not inevitable) means that these folks might want to explore the vast sociological literature about organizations and gangs and cults. An excellent place to start would be Michels's Political Parties, where he formulated the Iron Law of Oligarchy and wrote explicitly about German anarchosyndicalists. It's truly baffling how the critics of these particular organizational stupidities could be so cool as as to think that they only need to excise patriarchal attitudes and the cadre-based ideological and tactical unity would take form without any problems...
It would be really interesting to hear from the others who dropped out or were expelled and who then figured out that formal membership organizations might have some not very anarchist characteristics
