I must take responsibility for the rough look of this article. I downloaded a PDF copy from the Anarchist Studies web site and did a copy and paste here, which threw spacing off quite a bit. I tried to repair it as much as possible, but it was a tedious, line-by-line job.

I think this piece is a great example of theory arising out of close observation and committed participation. It deals with issues that were just as, if not more, contentious in the late 1980s and 90s as they are today, although, sadly, Anarchy magazine is no longer around, and the Infoshop.org news site is no longer the home for open and often interesting debate that it once was. My own anarchist thinking and practice has always had a strongly egoistic element in it, although I am also very interested in the theory and practice of intentional community.
