True, he doesn't juggle ideas, but he's got a penchant for making big, assertive statements without really making the case for why they're true except with a lot of references to intuition - perhaps the mark of someone with an advanced English degree taking on historical and religious commentary? Touch a fern and the whole truth of his philosophy is revealed to you, as long as you know how to listen. But I guess this style of writing will appeal to people who long for the good old (pre-2006?) days when we just had a world to inhabit built on truths we didn't have to look to hard into.
