I've decided to just carry on and bring up another topic for this discussion. Has anyone read The Archaeology of Violence by Pierre Clastres? It's really good. If you buy a copy of it, I would get the new edition because the old edition cover's attempt at being poignant just comes off as being somewhat essentializing. I think that you can find the whole text online for free.
If anyone cares to respond to any of this, they can respond to my original post or this or just talk about whatever they want to.
