I was today years old when i realized that when chisel says Lana Messi, she means the italian website La Nemesi

You don't know how to thread your replies after all these years? Troll!

What's the problem with wanting to meet similar-minded people, as alluded to in the podcast criticism heard at the end of the "What's New?" section?

What makes a reviewer worth listening to? Answer---Sometimes they're not, for some people.

Chisel's pretty obvious and clear about being subjective, and even sometimes explicitly about the criteria they use.

Your questions come across as someone who's trying to not sound butthurt. But we don't know anyone involved with the ego death project who might be butthurt, does we?

So I ask sincere questions and get hit with homophobic tropes? Nice. Fuck my ass harder maybe we'll get somewhere

Poor Z. Always the victim. This fucking guy. Turning someone calling you "butthurt" into a "homophobic trope" attack on you requires almost as many narcissistic mental gymnastics as your previous justifications for your stalking, rape, and murder threats.

Note to Chisel: they are quite clearly not two Buddhists. Their ramblings on Buddhism show no understanding of Buddha dharma beyond Wikipedia. Unless of course you're using "Buddhists" as a tongue-in-cheek for non-Buddhists that cherry pick aspects of Eastern philosophy and religion for their own cringe, melting pot way to sound deep because it's sooOooo exotic?

"We create the anarchy we want to see in the world."

So, in other words: boring gossip.

DO YOU SEE WTF IS HAPPENING?
DO YOU CARE ABOUT NATURE?
SMASH MY LAPTOP INTO BITS
FUCK
ALL OF YOU

OooOoooh nOooo the neo-Luddite ressentiment is seething!

Does a hurricane have resentiment, anon?

So we make thoughtful comments and get hit with anti-houseless tropes? Nice. Trash my vagabond lifestyle harder maybe we'll get somewhere

You're not from US or Canada rite? I can only see Errorpeans and US college kids, maybe, that can't know what motels are notorious for...

"ressentiment" is a French word that only has been reclaimed by Muhrican pedants on Anews and maybe some pedant "artistes" in some big US city. The proper English word has one "s" and neither an "i", you dumbo dumbo.

Tell everyone you've never read Nietzsche without explicitly saying it, brah.

I see a helluva lot of ressentiment here, your inferior vocabulary and thus your inability to rise up as a manager and receive a higher wage has produced this ressentiment, and your blaming of pedants with an IQ above 120. You will go on to nuture this and join the local Marxist club calling for the extermination of academically minded anarchists and capitalist dictionary compilers, 'cos it's their fault that you are stupid and resent people with more cash to spend.

You fluffy pedant butterfly... yes it is their fault, and yours, for being a gigantic ignoramus but not admitting it.

Ressentiment is a reassignment of the pain that accompanies a sense of one's own inferiority/failure on to an external scapegoat. The ego creates the illusion of an enemy, a cause that can be "blamed" for one's own inferiority/failure. Thus, one was thwarted not by a failure in oneself, but rather by an external "evil."

Yes, and in the English language this is called "resentment", you idiot.

There is a nuanced difference dude, resentment does not include the projection and scapegoating of another entity, which ressentiment describes, sorry for your comprehension.

The definitions in both languages are the exact same, dumbo.

Different anon here.

Read Nietzsche, brainiac. There is a reason he used the French spelling. If you discover it and can report why we will stop ridiculing your inferior intelligence.

Oh boi. How to start...

Okay so Dr Ignoramus, "On the Genealogy of Morals" was written in GERMAN. So to make it easier for you here's an explanation from Wikipedia's article about it:

"Ressentiment as a concept gained popularity with Friedrich Nietzsche's writings. Walter Kaufmann ascribes his use of the term in part to the absence of a proper equivalent term in the German language, contending that this absence alone "would be sufficient excuse for Nietzsche", if not for a translator."

So yea, in the context of Nietzsche and German readers and reviewers, it was legit to use the term as such, taken straight from French. Yet in the case of Anglos using that term in its original form, it is a mishandled translation at best, or rather pompous attempt to sound astute by using a French word for a literal English version that already exists.

For the folks in the back: this is a consequence of what happens when people limit their learning to Wikipedia snippets and do not actually read.

There is a German word for everything.

Resentment and Ressentiment, Nietzsche's choice of spelling, your brainworms and his own, this boring back-and-forth—there is différance.

Perhaps you've all reached an impasse. It might be cliche but let us all go to the restaurant, cafe, or diner and order some croissant or omelettes off the a la carte menu. Maybe finish with some pie a la mode and orange juice. It's possible we can discuss word usage and the state of the milieu and avoid further ridicule. We wouldn't want to sabotage ourselves.

RSVP if you're down and be sure to bring a simple bouquet of flowers for my fiance. Anything less would be cruel.

Nien nien nien nincompoop, I eat boiled oats, I am a happy German peasant without ressentiment or rich tastes!

Nice try. If you were German you'd know the correct spelling of nein.

thanks chisel for saving me from listening to ego death podcast with that review

live in the question

How does one “throw” shade? Explain it to me like I’m and older, highly educated, incredibly successful sex symbol that doesn’t understand the slang. Thx.

Thanks, champ.
