In our era of escalating fascism, we look outward to find our histories of struggle and solidarity. @anarchasemiyah and @blackanarchistradicals will explore Black struggles against hierarchy and the state in historical and contemporary contexts. We will journey through the many Black anarchisms in different parts of our world and how we can reach across time and borders to learn and fight with each other.

I'd like to see evidence otherwise but I think these two, as well as The Dugout crew, are on the cutting edge of celebrity “radicalism” what with making “follow me on these platforms!” brands out of what should be a subversive orientation. Basically, exactly those alluded to here:

https://muntjacmag.noblogs.org/archives/1323

“Black anarchism is going the way of the non-profit industrial complex or academia as more books, articles and lectures are published. Numerous opportunists see Black anarchism as a way to make a quick buck so they build their personal brands around it. I’m not gonna name names cause it’s actually so common though at this point, the only Black anarchists I trust are the ones who publish anonymously. These “black anarchist” personalities are no different than enemies like Patrisse Cullors or Opal Tometi from BLM. Black anarchism no longer exists in a subversive sense. And perhaps, it never did (although Lorenzo, Ashanti and Kuwasi’s brave actions certainly must be acknowledged).”

while i support your wariness, yours seems like a simplistic response. are all anarchists suspect who publish books (or get paid to write) about anarchism?

yes, anything and everything can be claimed by opportunists, including the things we care about the most. but we need more subtle tools and tactics to suss out who is acting in bad faith (and hence, presumably doing bad thinking, although those don't always go together), and how to combat that.

popularizing radical thinking and action is a double-edged sword.
