From Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group
May 28, 2024
Over the last four years, anarchist communist groups have been founded in both major and regional cities. Members of these groups have led strikes, organised protests and pickets, and played foundational roles in new organisations of class struggle. Workers’ self-organisation and class struggle, the founding elements of the anarchist tendency within the socialist movement, have been restored to the centre of our politics.
Now is the time for anarchists to unite around a common platform of theory and practice. By organising together, and through our interventions in the struggles of our fellow workers, we can demonstrate the usefulness of our ideas and the potential for a mass revival of revolutionary politics.
Anarchist Communists Meanjin and the Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group are pleased to announce that the memberships of both organisations met for a joint conference on 13 April in Brisbane.
After a day of robust discussion and debate, the Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group and Anarchist Communists Meanjin have agreed to work towards uniting and building an anarchist communist federation within Australia.
Our organisations have agreed to a number of minimum positions concerning the structure, aims, and priorities for a federation.
Our organisations have agreed to establish a joint preparatory committee to prepare proposals for consideration at a conference to found a federation.
Our organisations have agreed to work towards holding the founding conference for a federation in 2025.
Anarchist Communists Meanjin and the Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group are pleased to note that observers from Geelong Anarchist Communists attended and participated in conference discussions, and we look forward to working with Geelong Anarchist Communists on this project.
The Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group and Anarchist Communists Meanjin invite other anarchist communist groups within Australia to make contact with either group to discuss this project.
We have a world to win!

I find it very strange that the Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group's (MACG) slogan "Touch One Touch All" is using the exact same slogan as SirEinzige's proposed Canadian Radical-Centrist Anti-AoC Ego-Anarch Convention (CAMBLA) at Ontario Chuck-E-Cheese's. Is there a connection?
