From Chicago Anarchist Skillshare

Let’s take care of each other so we can be dangerous together

Join us for a fall Chicago Anarchist CareShare, the weekend before the election on November 1-3!

After over a year full of actions, disruptions and more, we are focusing on skillshares and group-faciliated sessions on care, in AND out of the streets.

What does it look like to care for ourselves and our people when we are not in the streets? What is care in times where people are reckoning with immense repression and dehumanization that comes with trying to confront the empire and all its entities?

While we don’t claim to have all the answers, we invite folks to engage in these questions with us.

Some skillshare workshops to look forward to are: care under stress, diaster relief and mutual aid work, long-term prisoner support, somatic exercises, operational and digital security culture, fighting toxic prisons, storytelling by the beehive collective, community and self defense, conflict resolution, storytelling around the bonfire and so much more!

Location and Time Details:

11/1: Patchwork Farms (2825 W. Chicago Ave) from 6-10 PM

11/2-11/3: WestSide Justice Center (601 S. California Ave) from 12-9 pm

Keep checking the welcome packet page for more information coming soon. That is where a detailed workshop schedule with workshop descriptions, accessibility, covid safety details and more will be posted!

!!! See you there !!!

"covid safety details" — anarchists will be the last people in society wearing masks, claiming there's a pandemic when there's not anymore

Whew! Okay... so how to approach this?

Now listen, yo... (rap.music in the background... tho not that vocoded normie trap crap, ok?) I'm like so TOTALLY for the use of contraception in the midst of STDs, evrn those lesser dangerous ones, and I DON'T think (mark my words) that the Lord is gonna protecc us with unprotected sex once we get married like chumps of socio-economic function enforced by religious ideology.

THAT BEING SAID... you're one gigantic chumptroll of the moronic kind if you are indeed convinced, sir/madam, that:

- surgical masks are doing to protect you against the spread of a stupid ordinary common cold, or maybe that 17th Cocid variant no.one cares about by now, especially that Covid was proven to spread mainly by water droplets landing on the face. But that doesn't matter as it's even crappier at killing people than the Influenza v3792.0 people are getting at every fucking cold season.

- Your human mammal lungs, my dear... (yes, just as reminder that you likelt and sadly aren't just a virtual persona or bot but a mammalian of the homo sapiens kind, sorry!) are made in a way to inhale O-X-Y-G-E-N, so to feed your blood and your brain. https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/lungs/breathing-benefits
There's a gas exchange going on in the alveoli of your lungs, transferring this oxygen into.carbon dioxyde, which is EXHALED. So using your smooth brain, you may possibly guess that couvering your two main respiratory origices with a mask will:

1- limit the inward flow of fresh air, so significantly reducing the oxygen your body needs to remain healthy

2- make you breathe your own fucking gas waste, i.e. carbon dioxide in the place of healthy oxygen, which will result in many grievous structural health issues, including, yes.. sadly, dysfunction of the brain...

Masks do not protect from getting a disease (only respirators do). Masks (somewhat) protect others if you already have common cold or COVID. Especially if you cough. It doesn't make as much sense to wear a mask if you're not ill I guess. Noone but Americans is that germphobic.

Sure. Tho in the case of mostly-harmless diseases, it's kinda dumb to be masking everywhere in the hope for the "community" to not get it, The virus will remain around, and the insane Covid politics under the pandemic has shown how vaccines and masking aren't that effective

I'm totally fine with catching a common cold despite the early sore throat I usually get... it's a good reason to not go to work, stay chill, read books, and it gets me into nice mild drug trip or half-sleep sensation that's good relaxation from society.

More cold & flu, communitarian workerists, not less! Especially with more diarrhea for u.

Being ill kinda sux. You can't actually enjoy watching anime and playing vidya games when your temperature is near 40 and you constantly want to vomit your insides out. Don't go to work... when you're healthy. That's way more fun.

40c is 104F

gotta say tho that "mostly harmless" for healthy people is not mostly harmless for immune compromised people. but egotists never think to think about any one but themselves.

you will continue to get anti maskers waxing stupid if you keep saying "covid" policies. covid isn't the only disease spread by airborne vectors. of course, anti maskers don't care about anyone with immunity issues, so a language change probably won't help, but it might be worth a try.

In Japanese schools if you got even a common cold you have to wear a mask. I thought that makes a lot of sense.

...Yes, I saw it in anime and manga, I actually have no idea.

" You WILL wear masks and NOT infect our working members. If you do NOT wear mask you BETRAY our collective wellbeing and production output which is OUR purpose in life, to OBEY the Master's wishes ! "

What did I even do? I just said what the Japanese do and that it makes sense to wear a mask if you have common cold, I didn't say mask mandates should be legally enforced.

Japan is an ultra-conservative, xenophobic, fascistic society with an education system where for decades young students have been committing suicide due to not being up to the community standards of productivity and conformity.

So it's convenient you're taking socio-sanitary policies of such a totalitarian system as referential model for socio-sanitary totalitarian politics applied outside the context of a virus that, indeed, ain't any more a cause of concern as an ordinary common cold.

Also fuck the Community, btw.

More like socially hyper-anxious germ paranoid commits to hikikomori 24/7 and expects the rest of the world to do so coz the only way to be truly SAFE is to have everyone locked up into cells..

For Anarchism!
