To remember the sense of freedom,
the wild desires of a child, the drive of a vigorous will that does not resist,
does not hesitate in the face of negotiation or the dilemma
of destroying the Existing,
that is why before I sleep I want to hear the cry of the butterfly
so that I may remember, not forget.

Georgia, our friend, our comrade, was a free person. She spent her entire life on the streets outside of social norms. She fought injustice in every aspect. Anarchist and transgressive, far from logics of guilt-innocence, always next to anyone who struggles, anyone who society marginalizes.

An integral part of the insurgent anarchist space for the last two decades, she participated in anti-repressive struggles, nature protection (such as in Skouries), alongside impoverished immigrants, drug addicts and prisoners. Her politicization came in the course of her life after running away from home at a young age, living on the streets of Germany, Turkey, Athens and then returning to her city of Thessaloniki.

Always unifying, she put the movement and the Cause above all ego. Despite her age and experiences, she never claimed infallibility and absolute truth and sought to come into contact and collaborate with much younger comrades. Her political journey through her passages in the Migrants' hangout, in the 111 occupation, the Solidarity Fund, the Khanjali anarchist group, the assembly of anarchists for the insurrectionary perspective, the Athens Indymedia Management Team and of course her beloved self-organized radio station of 1431, would not stop until death.

From today, every December 22nd will dawn brighter. Her memory will illuminate the paths we will walk, our joys, our sorrows, our defeats and our victories.

With her we stood side by side in the face of the enemy. Together we celebrated our journey through this life.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 12/23 at 10 a.m. at the Charilaou cemeteries we will say our final goodbyes and see you again.

Farewell to comrade Georgia K.

Something difficult

If there is one thing that keeps us alive and willing to wake up every day, it is our stubbornness to fight until we see what we have in our heads become reality. During the years of this constant inner flame, we change and try to adopt practices compatible with how we want to live, away from Gods and masters. The flame never goes out, even if it sometimes flickers. In wandering in the real dystopian world, people we meet make sure to keep us alive in the struggle just by their presence. They are the figures who are around us to remind us to never stop, to never back down. And when we unfortunately say goodbye to these figures, life stops for a while before we remember that even then they inspire us to never back down.

Today we say goodbye to comrade Georgia K.

Georgia, a member of the station for years, was always there with all her might to inspire us, to make us stubborn and above all to take care of us. In assemblies, discussions, gatherings, she was there to listen and speak in her own way and her own way of thinking. She was always there to listen to our problems and to generously offer us help, advice, a hug. Through the frequencies of 1431AM and the broadcasts “Resistance Against Authority” and “The Cry of the Butterfly” she made sure to regularly convey facts, opinions and become the voice of the oppressed inside and outside the cells.

Georgia, we will miss you, thank you for everything. You inspired us all the way. We will stay behind, to make sure the Butterfly's Cry is heard loud.

ALL OR NOTHING
