We announce our 3rd Anarchist Bookfair, this year happening in Tartu, Estonia, 29th-31st May 2026!

We are going to continue the tradition of Anarchist Bookfairs. We invite all the Anarchist/Libertarian and Socialist publishers and artists to present and sell their books, magazines, newspapers, cartoons, crafts, etc and everybody interested to spend the weekend with us, take part in discussions and seminars. The event is open for everyone to attend without prior registration. The details of the programme and location will come later.

If you want to sell or present your material, hold a lecture, discussion, performance or presentation, please, write to the following e-mail. We have a limited number of tables and timeslots, reserve them in advance. The, not-strictly-enforced deadline for booking is April 1st 2026.

Write to rigaanarchistbookfair@protonmail.com to apply!

And as always - See you at the Bookfair!

On our name change

The world is changing and so are we!

As you might have noticed we have changed our name to "Baltic Anarchist bookfair". The last two years of the bookfair have been so fun, educational and international. That's why we have decided to bring the bookfair to the Baltics! This will give us the opportunity to involve more Baltic comrades, ideas and sellers. The unity between the peoples' of the Baltic is uniqe and special. And we want to cherish this unity, especially at these times, when our societies are being divided, and their parts - isolated.

We have changed our name, but not our values and goals (the website domain and our email will also stay the same- rigaanarchistbookfair@protonmail.com).

Another reason why, for now the bookfair can't keep happening in Latvia is the increasing repressions against activists and leftists, and overall authorianism. Palestine actions have been shut down, local community spaces lost and no public events can happen without the explicit permission from the municipality. Sadly, we don't have enough human resources and public support to do the bookfair in Latvia and risk our safety and the safety of the participants. For 2026 the bookfair will move to either Estonia or Lithuania (news will follow as soon as we have it figured out). The open call for the next fair should be out soon and we hope that you will stay with us, keep attending and resisting!

Hopefully the political state of Latvia will change and we will be able to organise it there from time to time!
