Yesterday we made Vatan’s farewell who survived from Suruç bombing but was in hospital for 16 days because of serious woundings. Vatan who is a member of United Anarchist Attack (Birleşik Anarşist Atak), with his comrades had gone to Suruç (Pirsus) for a gathering to contribute reconstruction of Kobane which is organised by SGDF (Socialist Youth Associations’ Federation).
After the loss of Vatan, casualties were increased in total to 32, and specifically for anarchist increased to 5.

The coffin which was covered by red-black flag first moved to his parents’ home then taken to the Karlıtepe cemetery at 17:000. Upon request of his family the religious ceremony was made. After that anarchists, SGDF and HDP activists made a commemorate ceremony by giving speeches. Istanbul Anarchy Initiative, Land and Freedom Collective and Social War read a joint text which is focising on Vatan’s anarchist ideas and pratices. After the speeches given, anarchists shouted some slogans like “Insurrection Revolution Anarchy“. About 300 people participated the funeral and some banners carried on which writes; “Suruç Martyr Vatan Budak is immortal” and “Hearths in Suruç, Anger on the streets”.
Joint text which was read in funeral:

WHILE WE ARE SENDING VATAN…
Vatan closed his eyes in the land that which the tyranny of state isn’t/can’t be enough and somehow can’t be finished. He fit his world which he created for himself and raise steadily in Kobane and thereby he left it. No one should doubt it, as an anarchist he put a brick of recreation. Now what remains for us, his anarchist comrades, is to combine the anarchist ideas of Vatan with our anarchist struggle, then to complete everything which are left half finished about life.
Long Live Anarchy, Long Live Revolution…
ANARŞİ İNİSİYATİFİ (ANARCHY INITIATIVE)
SOSYAL SAVAŞ (SOCIAL WAR)
TOPRAK ve ÖZGÜRLÜK KOLEKTİFİ (LAND AND FREEDOM COLLECTİVE)
