From r/collapse:
The argument for organized labor has never been more relevant than it is right now. We're in a situation currently where most of us have no sick leave, no child care, inadequate healthcare, little to no savings, and a grim future ahead of us. The answer to this that's been floated for years is a General Strike wherein we all stop showing up to work until our demands have been met.
The barrier to entry has always been that we simply can't miss work because we're already (always) on the precipice of financial ruin. Well, here we are now, whether we like it or not. Whether we return to the same poorly-leveraged, bullshit economic terms in society going forward is up to when we choose to return.
If we want to make sure we're NEVER put in this shameful position again, a general strike is the answer, and the situation will never be better than it is right now. If we must collapse, we rebuild ON OUR TERMS
