"How It Started/How It's Going": Anarchistic Media & Pop Culture and Why We Should Make Our Own Media (A Brief Presentation & Participatory Discussion with Dane Michael)

What is anarchistic media & pop culture ? Is it making weird ass memes with dogs punching cops ? Making our own zines with our own perspectives & stories ? Producing magazines/journals, podcasts, autonomous websites (?), and other decentralized, self-organized media compositions outside the dominant culture ? Starting our own infoshops, autonomous community spaces, non-hierarchical collective bookstores, and/or unique cooperative/collective houses for building affinity-centered social relationships ? Posting up flyers, stickers, and graffiti with counternarratives advocating anti-state, anti-capitalist, and anti-hierarchical culture(s) ?

Or is it, ultimately, none of the above, and just making TikTok dance videos ? Or maybe both ? I don't really fucking know, just throwing out ideas...

anarchistic?

as kinda but not quite anarchist? or as in “anarchist is just a box and a label, things can be anarchistic without being label anarchist, in fact, the most anarchist things are those not labeled so, and we will refer to all these things that overflow and exceed the constraints of “what’s anarchist” as anarchistic”, or as in “we have a really low bar for anarchistic, as long as it’s not explicitly statist and is relatively d.i.y. and decentralized, the we slap the anarchistic label on it”, which all basically amount to the same thing, although anarchist just means DSA in Democracy Center now apparently, so maybe “anarchistic” is trying to get away from that?

That's the very reason why anarchism should have become a kind of secret society, sometime around 2010. A moment has been missed, I dunno if it's still worthy doing this today. Anarchy isn't meant for any aboveground crap, but instead as a nexus of creative subversive energies and ideas that must flow from a hidden, clandestine place, that can be reached by anyone genuinely interested in developing it.

This is to me the real satanic cult for a contemporary world. Nothing about God or demons, but rather about continuously subverting the spectacular materialist normie order in all its forms while creating liberating forms of life.

" so maybe “anarchistic” is trying to get away from that?"

Yes ! Wariness of the "anarchist" label but interested in the anti-state & anti-capitalist approach.

so communistic then

nebuloustic

disingenuousistic

backhanded anarchy

nope, is this not that simplistic.

Not communistic..challenging a label but advocating specific ethic practices should not be reduced to a negative dismissal

sounds interesting then! hope a great anarchistic time is had there tonight and that much anarchistic media is discussed, made and anarchized!

Too much "mediated relations" already, not enuff real talk like irl convos to be had. I know we still didn't achieve the psychic or technological powers to meet up globally at any given place at a given time, but lack of anarchist discourse as a real-world thing is lacking in so many places.
