I've firgured out what the problem with "nihilism" is

First of all, nihilism with any sort of a prefix is very confusing, for example, "anarcho-nihilism", or nihilist left wing identity politcs doesn't even make any sense. Anarchism itself is nihilistic because anarchists want to do away with the psychological framework that causes everyone to be a part of the work, buy, die lifestyle. I only add nihilist left wing identity politics because there are people who fit into the left wing id-pol model who call themselves nihilists.

The more purified way of looking at "nihilism" as just being an activity based on negation doesn't really bother me, except for how one would theoretically be "a nihilist". A lot of the discussions that LBC has started concerning Nihilism and its history aren't a problem for me either, but the way that people have been using the term greatly irritates me.

it always stuck with me how

it always stuck with me how Aragorn described nihilism somewhere (forget which text/podcast) as not a position one could ever be for or against. it also seems to me not necessarily a conclusion one always arrives at, but rather a sentiment one possibly starts from. a lingering sentiment that comes and goes.
I also cant help but think of this description of nihilism by Vasily Rozanov (by way of Vaneigem in Revolution of Everyday Life): "The show is over. The audience get up to leave their seats. Time to collect their coats and go home. They turn round...No more coats and no more home."
where does one go from there? not back home apparently.

Nihilism

I agree with it to an extent. Out with the old in with the new I say. Not much of one for the use of violent methods however.

i feel that defensive violence

and what gelderloos has said about it are pretty sound. The approach is weaker than offensive or pre-emptive violence, but the latter has even more disadvantages, especially from an anarchist perspective.
