Topic of the week - As 2024 comes to a close, let’s take a look back at the ongoing social upheavals worldwide, inspiring anarchist actions, and the multimedia that have kept you going through it all. 2024, a year in review and the year ahead.
What have been your favorite anarchist actions, communiques, new projects, and events (IRL & AFK) from this past year? On the opposite end, is there a specific anarchist critique of things that stands out or a list of embarrassments for the anarchist milieu that happened over the year? What anarchist projects and spaces are you looking forward to in the future? What new-to-you anarchist spaces and places have you visited lately?
What have been the most intriguing anarchist texts, books, videos, music, and other multimedia to come out over the past year? Why? At risk of creating a comment thread of lonely links, add some information and perhaps a little sentiment to help readers understand the importance to you.
We’d also like to celebrate, pay homage, and remember by sharing a list of 45 anarchists who have passed away over the 2024 year:
Daniil Galkin, Giovanni Stiffoni, Memodio (Guillermo Díaz), Licia Rognini Pinelli , Doriano Rota, Dean Tuckerman, Breyten Breytenbach, Italino Rossi, Kyriakos Xymitiris, George Angeletakis, Viktar ‘Mao’ Žarkievič, Jesús Arteaga, Harriet Ruth Ward, María Eva Izquierdo, H.P. Klee Benally died the last day of 2023 (apologies for being slightly off topic) but I'm just getting to his book now. I'm about 100 (out of 400) pages in and it's better than I thought it would be. Sick of indigenous people dying so young.
Don't you see that this will

Don't you see that this will make more room for "anarcho"-vanlife campers to hold their techno-industrial celebratory festivals and trash the desert unopposed?
RIP Klee.
Didn't he coin the term

Didn't he coin the term indigenous anarchy ? It's a very nuanced concept probably lost on urbanised folk who don't have an inner spiritual connection to the land.
RIP KB

I neither live in the past, nor in the future, but in the moment, because, when comparing eras, King Herod was the neo-liberal Netanyahu of his time, and Richard II was the Hitler of his era, and Jesus was the Stirner of his era, and Bakunin was the Henry Ford of his geo-political realm. So I'm just here, whatever year, doin' my thang!
Hey dude, you wouldn't

Hey dude, you wouldn't believe it, but I watched The Greatest Story Ever Told on the TV and the actor who played Herod, Josè Ferrer, he's the splitting image of Netanyahu, maybe related, it's uncanny, and like, in the movie HE IS A RUTHLESS LIBERAL, nooOoo kIDDing, it's like, Hollywood is into archetypes, like they're into Jungian casting, it's InCrEdibLE!
John the Baptist was Charlton Heston, nyuk, nyuk nyuk!
