What do you like cooking for anarchists; what way do you like cooking (experimentation? only with recipes? some mix?); what dish is so good that you want everyone to try it?

I'm tired and this is being a hard week, so tell funny stories about cooking or food or don't. It's all good.

my favorite cooking experiences are when i'm changing a recipe (eg with ingredients i have on hand or like better), and it turns out really well, and/but then is also pretty much not repeatable, since i don't take notes or anything. chaos and order mixing in the kitchen...

I am against the concept of recipes. I either cook by feel or just eat ingredients separately.

i went through a stint as a teenager when i was focused on making chocolate mousse. i made like three recipes and none of them were especially good mousses, but then i made a cake out of them, and the cake was really good.

there's some kind of lesson in there.

pizzas from scratch, and the main thing i learned was just how complicated pizza making was in the end. The dough is basically the most important ingredient, you've gotta have right mix of water, yeast, and flour...and oh my, these days in the Health Foods, Whole Foods, Anti-Gluten, and Anti-Cruelty era, you've got so many different kinds of dough its confusing. The other half is the toppings and sauce but that's real easy in comparison.

I've exclusively eaten grape uncrustables for an entire year for 5 times a day. I have never felt more in touch with society.

deletions and posting. To post here at all, one needs to accept the very strict nature of their sense of humor. This comment might be deleted. I guess it's supposed to be some sort of training camp for writers and zealots. The individualist aspect is the one that says "we'll delete your stuff and we don't have to explain". Be beholden to no one, avoid the topics that sound like "the american culture wars" because there's pretty much no fun in really chatting about these "right wing", "black", "feminist", "colonial", "indigenous" subject matters because there's so much outrage and confusion on both the left/right side of the equation. Having a cooking thread is actually very refreshing in my opinion.

I guess the main joke is that if you are VERY serious about anarchy, "don't post it online because it's a crime by nature" ;-) DON'T try to change the opinions of others!

This commenter ranting about their "fun" comments being deleted is no fun. I want more fun, now. My endorphin glands need the opiates shot from shitposts so I can feel less bored about mah life.

Yesterday i had the caprice to make a dessert for which i didn’t have the ingredients. The prospects of finding one of the ingredients was not good. I uncompromisingly refused to use a replacement. Shortly after discarding launching a quest for that one item (not worth the effort), or buying it online (not worth the money), the caprice disappeared.

This anecdotes presents us with various hallmarks of anarchists:

- broke
- impulsive and fickle
- pessimistic all-or-nothing thinking
- lack of resourcefulness
- mind occupied in frivolous, hedonistic trivial pursuits
- the conclusion is always to do nothing in the end
- anarchists get to not have their cake, and not eat it too

I like cooking homey and delicious food for anarchists. My mom taught me a lot about cooking growing up and it’s always been something I’ve enjoyed. I’m at the point now where I use a recipe for inspiration and then kinda do my own thing with it.

I love cooking a big meal and inviting anarchist-buddies over to enjoy it. Lentil shepherds pie, seitan gyros with home made vegan tzatziki, and walnut bolognese are some of my highlight reel dishes.

While cooking is great, baking is even better. There’s such a magic to throwing ingredients together, giving them some time, and then seeing how it all turns out. Sourdough bread, chocolate chip cookies, and cinnamon rolls are some of the things I bake the most. One I learned the ins and outs of vegan substitutions, baking became an artistic and creative process for me. There’s something wonderful about crafting something with your hands and then sharing it with the people you care about. No store bought imitation in shiny packaging or overpriced bakery confections. That tiny moment when you tuck into a homemade treat is more than just eating. For me, it’s a way of showing care for the people I’m feeding. Which might be kind of cliche…but I don’t care.

Also food is delicious and I hope to spend my life enjoying it as much as possible.

I learned to cook as a teenager by volunteering with food not bombs but I learned how to season my food by cooking with my mom as an adult.

1- Go in. Jump straight INSIDE the dumpsters and get the goodies by using revolutionary violence on the trash bags holding the proletarian-made goodies hostage of the mass industrial society
2- If yoga yuppie or CHUD sees you, make sure to stuff as much dumpster foods in your mouth and make them a big fat smile with the DUMPSTER POUTINE coming out of your mouth to make a maximum impression
4- shout them a quote from Delease or Merleau-Ponty.
7- bring food home. cook yourself some fine curry cabbage soup, with some roots.
9- have a glass of water and repeat the next day
