BREAKING THE ICE
At dawn on February 7, the railway line near Pesaro station (Province of Pesaro and Urbino, Marche) was sabotaged.
This action aims to highlight the contradictions inherent in the "spectacle" of the Olympics, in this case the Milan-Cortina '26 Winter Olympics. Among the various official partners of these games are companies such as Leonardo, Eni, and Gruppo FS, which collaborate in and financially speculate on wars and the devastation of the earth in the name of ferocious capitalist progress.
Militant solidarity with all workers who rebel against the exploitation of their bosses, with peoples fighting for the liberation of their lands, and with those who rise up against this society.
Freedom for all rebels in cages!

WHOEVER SABOTAGES IS AN ENEMY OF ITALY
These Olympics couldn't have gotten off to a better start.
On the morning of February 7, the day of the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games of Shame, three railway lines were sabotaged and blocked until the afternoon.
Around 6 a.m., two rudimentary incendiary devices were placed next to the tracks of the Castel Maggiore line, one heading north and one heading south. The targets were speed detection cables. One of the two devices, the one on the northbound track, was activated around 8 a.m., damaging the cables, while the second, on the track heading towards Ancona, remained unexploded. An electrical substation near Pesaro caught fire, interrupting train service to and from the Marche region.
Two years ago, a series of attacks of similar method and context were launched against five different infrastructures of the LGV network around Paris, causing the cancellation of 25% of trains and enormous disruption from July 26 to 28, the days of the opening of the Paris Olympics. Partly due to the complete militarization of the city, direct protests on that occasion were limited to civil disobedience and non-violent actions. A few days later, this claim was released:
Claim of responsibility for the sabotage of the TGV lines a few hours before the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games
And they call this a celebration? We see it as a celebration of nationalism, a gigantic staging of the subjugation of peoples by states.
Under a playful and friendly mask, the Olympic Games provides a testing ground for police management of crowds and generalized control of our movements.
Like all major sporting events, they are also an opportunity to worship the values on which the world of power and money is based: generalized competition, performance at all costs, sacrifice for national unity and glory.
The satisfaction of identifying with an imaginary community and supporting one's supposed camp of belonging is no less harmful than the constant incitement to see one's salvation in the good health of one's national economy and the power of one's national army.
In the months leading up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, two packages of laws were passed, the "Loi sécurité globale" and the "Loi olympique," the latter authorizing the testing of facial recognition technology for the duration of the Olympics. Just as in France, on February 5 of this year, two days before the opening ceremony of the [Italian Winter] Olympics, a new security package was enacted in Italy, which, among other things,
- consolidates the use of "red zones" [designated areas which individuals with criminal records or who are deemed 'dangerous' cannot enter] as a tool of social exclusion
- authorizes the 12-hour detention (already commonly practiced) of "dangerous" individuals by law enforcement agencies during times of public demonstration
- introduces imprisonment for evading a police check
- imposes a fine of up to €20,000 for unauthorized demonstrations (Article 18 of the TULPS, Royal Decree of June 18, 1931).
As in Paris in 2024, on February 7 in Milan, direct protests were limited to civil disobedience and non-violent actions, with the exception of the final moments of the march launched by CIO (Comitato Insostenibili Olimpiadi, Committee Against Unsustainable Olympics).
"Milano in Movimento" writes on this subject:
"[...] we decided to revive the slogan of last autumn's major strikes: let's block everything – in our case, the Tangenziale Est [East ring road] in Milan, at its onramp from Piazzale Corvetto. An imposing police presence, which in recent days had already paralyzed the city to make way for the fascists of the Trump administration and the delegation from the genocidal state of Israel, militarizing the working-class neighborhoods of Corvetto and San Siro, responded with tear gas fired at head height, violent direct police charges, and water cannons against the crowd. The march remained together and decided then to move together towards Brenta, where it dispersed, to return to the PalaUtopiadi (formerly PalaSharp). Six people were arrested during the police attacks and then released with charges pending. We also report two given expulsion orders from Milan and 15 injured, four of whom were hospitalized."
After the march, Meloni and company declared in unison: "Those who demonstrate against the Olympics are enemies of Italy."
We are absolutely not allowed to criticize the nationalistic, competitive spirit of these "games" or their draining of impressive amounts of public funds while entire buildings collapse in Sicily in the wake of a hurricane.
After all, there is nothing more important at the moment. There is no better tool of distraction for a modern state. There is no better mask, in Italy today as elsewhere in the past; just one example is the 1936 Berlin Olympics, at the height of the Nazi dictatorship.
It seems clear, when new security laws become more or less biannual opportunities to tighten the nets of repression and stifle any dissent, that 'clean' forms of dissent, explicitly claimed and carried out within the law, can no longer be effective.
Similarly, we can no longer ignore the ineffectiveness of the methods of direct street confrontation carried out in recent months and years throughout the country.
It therefore seems necessary to arm ourselves with the tools of clandestinity, decentralization of the conflict, multiplication of its fronts, self-defense and sabotage in order to survive the times we are facing.
For the eradication of this system of death and exploitation,
for the destruction of the totalitarian control that suffocates us.
Ungovernable, not disobedient.
Fire to the Olympics and those who produce them. (A)
