Dark Times

Via email by Gustavo Rodríguez

All antagonism, all resistance, all criticism, all dissent, and all seditious attempts can now be predicted based on the automatic detection of data patterns. Hence, algorithmic domination can anticipate the next move and “put the band-aid before the wound appears”. However, we continue to await the arrival of a dystopian future without realizing that the massive processing of data for the purposes of social control, hand in hand with the accelerated technological revolution, has already established that dystopia here and now. While many comrades remain lost, engrossed in a futile struggle against outdated windmills, absolute social control has been established with the help of new technologies. These are prediction machines, “whose goal—according to Pariser—is to constantly create and refine a theory about who you are, what you will do, and what you will desire next”.i

How Anarchists Saw the Iranian Revolution (part 3)

From Anarchistories by Tom Goyens

The oppression of women in Iran remains one of the clearest expressions of the theocratic order established in 1979. The nationwide “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising that followed the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody in September 2022 revealed not only the courage of Iranian women but also the unresolved struggle over bodily autonomy, public morality, and state power that began with the Islamic Revolution itself.

Anarchists Against High-Speed Rail in the Quebec-Windsor Corridor

From North Shore Counter-Info

This is a collaborative zine, definitely a work in progress. We (the authors) are anarchists who live in areas that will likely end up on the proposed Alto high-speed rail route in Eastern and Central Ontario. Some of us live rurally and some live in Peterborough, the one small city that will likely have a train stop and will be affected in many ways.

White Shroud, Deed of Ownership: An Autopsy of an Occupation (Field Executions & Forced Marriage)

From Anarchist Front

Here, in the 17th district of Kabul, two girls' bodies are wrapped in white cloth. The whiteness of the shroud, this time not of ritual, but the signature of a predatory regime on bodies that had been plundered many times before their deaths. They were not killed to punish; they were killed to register ownership, to mark the boundaries of property. In the Taliban's logic, a woman who does not submit to forced marriage, a woman who was previously in the clutches of a willing or unwilling spouse and now the armed Taliban wants her for themselves, a woman whose existence, in the eyes of this armed group, is an ownerless land, is to be eliminated.

Update on May Day 2026 Anarchist Prisoner (Indonesia)

One of the detainees arrested during the May Day 2026 protests in Bandung, RR alias Mpe, who was previously accused of being the “leader of an anarchist group,” has now been charged by the police under terrorism laws. He has also reportedly been placed in isolation and denied access to legal counsel of his own choosing, raising serious concerns over the violation of a suspect’s right to provide testimony freely and without coercion, intimidation, or pressure.

June 11th statement from Marius Mason

From Anarchist Black Cross Federation by Marius Mason

I am feeling some bittersweet feelings, having left prison after some 17 years. I met so many people, from so many communities and families, who found themselves incarcerated for a myriad of reasons. As we move into this time of contention, where there will be conflict between the state and the communities we know – there may be more of the people we love sharing that hidden world behind bars and kept apart. To recognize and remember them is important and it keeps those ties we have to them strong. Please help me this June 11th, to send some love, some hope and a promise to remember to all of our people who are living behind bars.
