from Rebel City:
At Rebel City we have been working with some comrades in Sudan to translate our book into Arabic. While working with them they have explained that they would like to purchase their own small printing press which would make it easier to print their own anarchist materials, but as importantly make it safer for them to print their own materials. Below is their appeal. For safety we are using the Rebel City bank account to collect the funds and will then get the money to them via a safe route. If we raise more than $1,300 they can also buy paper, inks, etc. So, we are asking anyone who supports this and can help financially to send money to us – bank details below. The appeal below is from our comrades in Sudan, explaining why they want the printing press.

Union of Anarchists in Sudan
Calling comrades in the United Kingdom,
Sudan is going through its worst humanitarian crisis since April 15 last year. The war that broke out between the Rapid Support and the army caused the displacement of more than 18 million civilians and the withdrawal of all educational services facilities from service, creating the largest educational crisis in the country.
We in the Anarchist Union appealed to our comrades after being subjected to campaigns of repression, arrests, and arbitrariness, the martyrdom of comrade Sarah, and the injury of 3 comrades due to indiscriminate bombing in Khartoum. Two companions were arrested for volunteering in displacement centres to provide humanitarian aid to children, and they were subjected to flogging, imprisonment, and a fine.
We want to clarify the following. Direct field work has become difficult for us. It puts our lives in danger. This war is a war of authoritarian dictatorship directed against revolutionaries.
We are writing and printing brochures. Anarchist publications contribute greatly to disseminating our ideas and help us educate ourselves and organize our revolutionary movement. But, the public printing presses pose a great threat to our safety. This is due to us targeting campaigns against the revolution.
Therefore, we want to establish our own printing press so that printing publications is safer, easier, and less expensive in light of the great economic crisis and high printing costs. We call on you to stand in solidarity with us in this crisis. The cost of the printing press is $1,300
One dollar makes a difference.
Don't forget us.
Long live the revolution. Long live freedom. Long live anarchism!
