Union Anarchist Communist (UAC) Naarm/Melbourne Publishes Its "Platform and Principles"

The UAC has released its first edition of the "Platform and Organisational Principles of the Union Anarchist Communist (UAC). The UAC formed on January 1st 2025. The first UAC local in Naarm is still formative and the document is provisional, still to be ratified by a general assembly of the UAC. The document will soon appear as a hard copy pamphlet and as an e-book.

A Critique of the Mass Mobilization Strategy

In the literature of social movements, the mass mobilization strategy refers to a family of strategies that rely on massive gatherings, massive physical presence, and symbolic-material pressure from the population to break down the political order. In this strategy, population accumulation is equated with power accumulation, and it is assumed that the force of repression becomes powerless or hesitant in the face of a very large mass of people. However, these assumptions are now the subject of serious criticism.

One year of the ACF

On the 18th of January 2025, an ‘Anarchist Communist Forum’ was held at Kathleen Syme library in inner city Melbourne. Anarchists hosted workshops on various topics; industrial struggle, imperialism, sexism and political organisation. Drawing well over a hundred people through the doors, the forum demonstrated a rebirth of anarchism in Australia.
