From It's Going Down

An Interview with Belarus Anarchist Black Cross

It is essential that our revolutionary solidarity extend beyond borders and transcend the artificial East/West divide. The Belarusian anarchist and anti-fascist milieu, with its dozens of political prisoners (and likely more unknown to local support efforts) is in dire need of international solidarity.

There are two main reasons to create this publication. First is to motivate people to write to prisoners, while obtaining funds for anarchists imprisoned in so-called Belarus.

A few words about the intervention to Professor A. Drakos

A few words about the intervention to Professor A. Drakos

The age we live in finds us trapped in a spectacular, imposing but at the same time fragile normality, the normality of the “aristocrats” and their slaves. Sitting behind their seats, with wide smiles and over-inflated bank accounts, the ‘excellent’ are the dream of every petty bourgeois. However much they may communicate this image, the pervasive rot and stench that pervades them is everywhere, infesting the space where they stand and breathe.

How a Married Undercover Cop Having Sex With Activists Killed a Climate Movement

How a Married Undercover Cop Having Sex With Activists Killed a Climate Movement

From Vice by Geoff Dembicki

Mark Kennedy spent seven years pretending to be a climate activist. People he deceived are still rebuilding their lives.

When Kate Wilson was 23, she got deceived into having sex with an older guy who wasn’t what he appeared to be. To her, he was Mark Stone, a radical environmental activist who shared her taste in country music and her belief that capitalism is destroying the planet. He wrote poetry for her, went to her grandmother’s 90th birthday party, and helped her organize a massive protest against the G-8 summit in Scotland. They lived together nearly two years as lovers and stayed close friends for years after.

The Clastrian Machine on Immediatism Podcast

The text read and discussed in these 13 podcast episodes will stand as a favorite on Immediatism. Entitled The Shamanic Trace, by Peter Lamborn Wilson, its topic is the Clastrian Machine, which consists of primitive warfare, gift exchange, and shamanism, and functions outside of the state in ways that have often prevented the state from arising and undermine it when it does. Those who tend toward classical anarchism will easily follow the analysis of the Clastrian Machine being against the state, while those who tend toward an anti-civ perspective can easily substitute the word civilization where "state" occurs in the text. While Immediatism recommends listening to all of the episodes in order to get the full benefit of the analysis and examples, the list below will include episode topics to support those who want to sample one or more episodes of interest.

J22: International Day of Solidarity with Transgender Prisoners

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from Anarchist Communists Meanjin by Black Freighter

CW: Article discusses distressing topics.

January 22 marks the seventh International Day of Solidarity with Transgender Prisoners. Initially called by Marius Mason, a transgender anarchist prisoner incarcerated for his environmental direct action with the Earth Liberation Front, J22 encourages us to acknowledge the experiences of trans and other sex and gender-minority prisoners. Against a system committed to erasing the existence of incarcerated trans people, we can voice our solidarity and demonstrate our commitment to the abolition of prisons. Prisons, as Angela Davis notes, “do not disappear problems, they disappear human beings.”
