The End of Anarchy – An Introduction

pls no more big name authors talk

from Center for a Stateless Society by Shane Ross

To read Proudhon, to many non-mutualist thinkers beyond anarchist academia, is laughable. Anarchist communists will insist that Bakunin, Kropotkin and Bookchin expand on Proudhon, rendering the original mutualist promise as empty (ironic considering the massive amount Bakunin took directly from Proudhon.) Anarchist capitalists insist that his theories were flawed, socialist, and/or didn’t rely on the non-aggression principle or Austrian economics (or generally some otherwise lackluster defense of the freedom of capitalists). Marxians, much to the dismay of left anarchists, will insist that Marx “debunked Bakunin and Proudhon” during his time (as if the schools haven’t had a dialogue for as long as Marxism has lived).

Commentary from An Anarchist Prisoner

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

from Center for a Stateless Society by Duane Fuller

As an anarchist prisoner, it has been said many times that one can learn a great deal about society by looking towards its prisons. Look towards its dungeons and there you will see in concentrated and microcosmic form the sickness of the entire system. And today there is something that is particularly revealing about the analogy between the prison and the larger society of which it is a reflection. For in a painfully real sense, we are all prisoners of a society whose bombastic proclamations of freedom and justice for all are nothing but meaningless rhetoric.

The Political Horizon of the Student Walkouts

As anarchists, we will always stand with students when they walk out of their classrooms and with workers when they walk off of their jobs. We want everyone to have safer conditions with ample masks, tests, and space—but above all, we believe that students, like workers, should always be the ones to decide where, when, how, and whether to study or work.

eco-anarchist struggle against Nestle’s water-grabbing & state-sanctioned hit squads in Mexico

This interview was conducted more than two years ago from when it will be read. The delay in publication has more to do with the appropriate publication outlet than security or, more so, concerns for providing feedback on how an action group was “effectively halted.” The proliferation and intensification of violence in Mexico against anarchists, and especially organized women, has only increased since this interview.

TOTW: Money trouble

I imagine there are at least a few anarchists out there who are relatively used to substantial amounts of money in bank accounts. Perhaps there are even a few more on top who actually know how to utilize the numerical pixels without the deleterious headfuck. I have never had either experience as an anarchist; That is, until now.

Texas Prisoners Organize Strike and Boycott for Juneteenth 2022

via It's Going Down

Call from Texas prisoners for actions leading up to Juneteenth.

An organization of revolutionary Texas prisoners called T.E.A.M.O.N.E., alongside another prisoners’ org titled the TX Liberation Collective, is calling for a “campaign to boycott, rally, and strike on the days approaching [Juneteenth] and on that day.” [...] The communique is being spread publicly as an invitation to outside groups like Incarcerated Workers’ Organizing Committee, Anarchist Black Cross groups, Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement chapters, and other prisoner support crews and anti-prison groups to help spread the word to prison populations in their own states as well.

British Politics and Anarchism in 2022

stick 'em up! for thinking about politics 2021!

From Freedom News UK

I’ve been thinking recently about the various themes that I’ve written about since starting this regular column for Freedom in 2016. I try really hard not to repeat myself too much but history has a way of making that pretty tough. These are the themes I think will recur time and again in 2022.

From It's Going Down

Why Moxie’s Departure is Not the End of Signal

Technical discourse almost always generates an odd sort of distortion when it collides with life outside of disciplinary separations. This is very much the case when it comes to radicals and information security. Communications, computer science and cryptography are highly complex, to the point that even people working in the security industry full time have difficulty grasping the complexities from time to time. As we saw with the Snowden leaks, the combination of highly complex technical content and the possibility of danger in the form of surveillance, tended to generate a discourse grounded in hyperbole and conspiracizing. This approach often led people to either attempt to completely go dark, or to modify their practices base on false, misconstrued or misunderstood information.
