Half-nudity

this is conspicuously not depicting nudity

from nudism as an illegalism

Anarchists don't talk about topfreedom much. My experience is that, when women and enbies take their shirts off in our spaces, no one usually remarks upon it (although people do sometimes cheer, depending on the context). [...] It's the police, the neighbours, or the owners of the bar who will typically take issue, and for anarchists, the only question is how the rest of us will act to stand up for the members of our party who have magnetized some antagonistic attention to themselves.

34 years squat

"34 YEARS ARE NOT ENOUGH! Occupied space at Biology school of Thessaloniki - SQUAT FOREVER”

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, we noticed some "changes" inside the building of the School of Biology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). Specifically, in the foyer area, there was plasterboard placed blocking half the space, leaving a corridor between the two entrances of the building. In fact, there were even some visible red marks (X) on certain walls, including one wall of the squatted space marking them for demolition.

Ecological Uprising, Antifascism and Anarchist Organizing in Serbia

From The Final Straw Radio

Serbia has been rocked by recent, mass blockades in the streets to challenge changes to the Law of Expropriation which would allow the state to take farm lands and other private property to open space for constructing mega projects and extraction like the proposed Rio Tinto lithium and jadarite mine in the Jadar Valley. This is building off of earlier ecological protests in 2021 against the building of private mini hydroelectric power plants along rivers in Stara Planina (aka the Balkan mountain range) threatening access to and health of drinking water. These protest in December forced the 12-year ruling right-neoliberal SNS Party to backtrack and modify plans for the Expropriation and public Referendum laws and put an undefined pause on Rio Tinto’s mine.

NYC Anarchist Black Cross mourns the loss of Russell “Maroon” Shoatz. Russell was a founding member of the Black Unity Council, as well as a veteran of both the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Army. Captured in 1972, he attempted escape twice, but was ultimately kept locked inside for almost 50 years, only being let out in the last weeks of his life as he was already dying of cancer. While inside, he remained committed to the struggle, and was a dynamic thinker and prolific writer, authoring the collection Maroon the Implacable and several other insightful interviews and articles as well.

Some people decide to stay inside

Alberto Frisetti – Albo to his friends – refuses to get out of jail on bail, or rather by paying a ransom of 45,000 euros to the Spanish State, in line with the common declaration made by the 27th February Prisoners following Jeanne’s release: “Either all or none”. Albo refuses this compromise despite the generosity of his father who would have paid the disproportionate amount of ransom.
