Earthseed for Anarchists

Just Because We’re Stuck In A Bubble, Doesn’t Mean We Can’t Cause Any Trouble

From C4SS by Locusts and Wild Honey

Science fiction has always been an important playground of radical politics for anarchists, libertarians, and socialists alike. My personal favorite is Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents (the two completed novels of her Earthseed series), which tell the story of a United States of the 2030s in the midst of economic collapse, and fascistic rule,  corporate dominance as well as the struggle to build new communities amid this chaos—not to revive the dying empire but to build something new and better from its ashes.

In solidarity: The Libertarian Cultural Centre of Almada

From Autonomies

For a new space for the Centro de Cultura Libertária/Libertarian Cultural Center!

The space that the Libertarian Cultural Centre (Almada, Portugal) has occupied and rented for almost 50 years is again in danger. The continued pressure exerted by gentrification and the real estate market that has evicted and forced out of city centres hits us once again. After years of threats and eviction processes that we resisted, in March 2024, the CCL will have to leave its historic headquarters in Cacilhas.

Between the lines that we read in books, we sometimes find words from the people who had them in their hands before. Little secrets that inspire us to thought and action and with which we go out into the world without anyone knowing where they came from. In a world that constantly threatens us with repression, we search between the lines of books and find each other.

The Contemptuous
Communique #2
We are a pack.
We are not the crowd.

“For the anarch, little is changed when he strips off a uniform that he wore partly as fool’s motley, partly as camouflage. It covers his spiritual freedom, which he will objectivate during such transitions. This distinguishes him from the anarchist, who, objectively unfree, starts raging until he is thrust into a more rigorous straitjacket.”

"Code Name Jenny" is a highly topical political feature film. We are putting the film on the net for free. It is a gift for all people who like political films. And for all people who fight for a better society. "Code Name Jenny" was made by independent filmmakers at the self-governing Berlin film school "filmarche". The film music was made by the wonderful band: "Guts Pie Earshot" and "Nomi & Aino".
