Statement from Fédération Anarchiste (French-speaking Anarchist Federation)

From London Anarchist Federation

Re: Attack at Publico, bookshop of the Anarchist Federation in Paris

An anarchist comrade was violently attacked with a knife the afternoon of 2nd May 2019 in the FA bookshop Publico (Paris).

There is nothing to suggest the attack was targetting him in particular, but rather the organisation he represents and to which he belongs : the Fédération Anarchiste.

Breaking the sword of capital hanging over Exarcheia

From Athens Indymedia

The current situation of inundation, exhaustion & fear

The beginning of any counter insurgency from state and capital includes prolonged low intensity attacks. Exarcheia knows full well what this looks like and has with much success resisted it in the past. At the current moment, with capital in a worldwide state of hyper crisis, this mania throws everything it can towards areas that cannot be managed for profit generation. Our neighborhood is not only one of these areas but also the lighthouse that inspires others to fight for them and seek its refuge.

Bruxelles : Brief report of the trial against anarchists persecuted by the Belgian State

From Act for Freedom! - 29 and 30 April 2019

29 and 30 April 2019 the trial against the anarchists charged with “criminal association” and for a series of offences took place in Brussels.
Two defendants attended the trial in the Criminal Court Room. They refused to answer the judges’ questions.
The other ten accused did not show up. All were represented by lawyers.

Following the arguments of the magistrate Malignini of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office the lawyers then spoke. The magistrate requested the following sentences for the various defendants:

Green House Distro

Green House Distro is a collective based out of the Southeast focusing on topics of anti-authoritarian, anti-civilization, post-left, vegan, straight-edge, individualist and drop-out (lifestyle anarchy). We call ourselves nihilist because of the impending doom of climate catastrophe caused by our current set of living arrangements - civilization. We do not see any hope with this set of living arrangements. Instead of living for the future or a better day we aim to live for NOW. Destroy that which destroys you.

Anarchy Bang: Introducing Episode Seventeen - Memes, egocom, and their discontents

From Anarchy Bang

This week… The Situationists used something like memes in their posters and comics. They are interesting because they can contain layers of reference for the initiated, or make us laugh out of random absurdity. What happens when an image, along with a short phrase or two, replaces the effort (and enjoyment) of opening a book?

I personally would like to thank everyone who contributed writing to that. I apologize for the delay with it. I wanted to make sure everyone had plenty of unpressured time to finish writing their contributions.

These zines below including many others will be available at the Warzone Distro table at the upcoming Green Scare Anarchist Bookfair May 11th-12.

And then a quick run through of the massive world of anthropological book recommendations: cultural anthropology, overviews, ethnographies, ethnohistory, and anthropological looks at war.

TOTW: Calling the Cops

For cops, please dial extension 1312

Recently I was having a conversation with a non-anarchist friend who is white and female-identifying* she told me about a situation she found herself in where she considered calling the cops. She was alone alone and was threatened by a person of color who came at her in an explicitly threatening way. I responded with some boiler plate questions and anarchist hostility to the idea of calling the cops at all. Though she isn’t an anarchist, she hates the cops as much as I, or most anarchists I know do, maybe more.
