‘I was born an anarchist’: Kitty Lamb interview notes

i could not find a photo of Kitty Lamb (1901 – 1992), here's this instead

From Judy Greenway

I have just posted unpublished notes from two interviews with activist Kitty Lamb (1901 – 1992) about her life and the development of her anarchist beliefs. She participated in raising money for the Republic during the Spanish Civil War, war resistance in the Second World War, the campaign against capital punishment in the nineteen-fifties, and for nuclear disarmament in the sixties. She took the platform at Speakers Corner, and the stage in anarchist cabaret. Self-deprecating though she was about her own activities, these fragmentary stories illustrate her lifelong commitment to a better world, and give an insight into the shifting social and political groupings and alliances of the times.

A Brief History of Anarchism in Indonesia

Photograph by Frans Ari Prasetyo. Graffiti on the ruins of a demolished house in Tamansari, Bandung, c. 2019. It reads: ‘The state is a slave to capitalism’.

From Anarchist Studies Blog by Gloria Truly Estrelita, Jim Donaghey, Sarah Andrieu and Gabriel Facal

In the Indonesian language, the term ‘anarki’ is synonymous with the riotous behaviour of a disparate range of groups, including everything from Islamic fundamentalists to football fans. [...] The authorities use the term ‘anarko-sindikalis’ to differentiate this form of anarchism from the ‘anarki’ of other rioters, and groups identified as such suffer persecution. This contemporary scenario, and the longstanding ‘red scare’ in Indonesia, means that speaking out on the anarchist movement remains delicate.

From Athens Indymedia Translated by Act for Freedom Now!

Greece: text of Comrade B. Stathopoulos at the Court of Appeal on 9/12

Obviously for the State and power it is primary for them that child rapists and rapists (like Lignadis and the policemen from Omonia police station), the murderers of a 15 year old anarchist and 16 year old Roma, and various other people (like Korkoneas and other policemen) and the fascists of X.A, (Golden down neo-nazis ) more than half of whom are on parole, are out of jail, not the anarchists who practice the concept of solidarity.
