Last night I saw the moon and a star. It was the first time in a long-time. It made me think of all my friends, old and new,and wonder what they were doing under its glow. I feel so lucky to be part of a wide network of people. Anything seems possible when you know you have support. But whilst these thoughts make prison bearable, I will never forget the violence of the system.
Announcement of May 16th Conference
In commemoration of the horrific bombing of the MOVE Organization by Philadelphia police 30 years ago, on Saturday, May 16th in Oakland, CA, people will come together at the radical community center Qilombo for the ‘No More Locked Doors’ conference. During the day, groups will be tabling and there will be workshops. In the evening, there will be a panel of former political prisoners. After the panel, revolutionary hip-hop artists will perform.
According to a report by ABC Mexico, anarchist prisoners Carlos, Amelie and Fallon were released March 13th, Amelie and Fallon were transferred directly to an immigration prison to be deported back to Canada. Given the condition of the place: restricted visits and lack of information, the situation of the companions was unclear until March 23 when they were deported.
Recall that the comrades were sentenced for an incendiary attack with molotovs against a Nissan dealership and the Ministry of Communication and Transportation in Mexico City.
The fire still burns
Solidarity Statement from the Inside: “Keep the Struggle Alive!”
To all those still keeping the fire alive, my name is Dante Cano.
I was arrested by the pigs on Friday the 13th, at a march “Against the Police State.” It was an international call-out against militarization of the pigs and police repression towards black lives in so-called “America.”
I was also out there that night for all those killed in racist murders and the killing of a woman that was shot by the Emeryville police outside of Home Depot.
Due to my inability to take part in the shutdown (work strike) that was called for by the Free Alabama Movement here in Alabama and subsequently put in effect at the St. Clair Maximum security prison on March 1, 2015 – I am in solitary confinement and have to work assignment to shut down from – I can only express my solidarity and contempt for this greedy and rotten slave system with the way of a hunger strike and not words alone.
Donate to bail Dante out of jail at: http://www.gofundme.com/ok4ksg. Dante, born in the Bay Area, is an Oakland anarchist facing a felony charge steaming from an arrest during the recent revolt in the Bay Area. We only need to raise around $1,000 so please help us out!
